Ian

What was the problem with the Avon's steering? Was it a very expensive job to fix?

£150 for new steering cable and fitting as the connections had worn away and lost some teeth on the arrangement. Not expensive, and drives like a dream now.

I can name the two boulders at the front!!!
I gave you a geology lesson whilst we were in the bay. As usual you were concentrating on the level of remaining baileys rather than the strata.

I was listening...

something about the forming of Europe some 300 million years ago when the lithosphere movement formed the upper rocky mantle that we know today. The varying colours in the formation were caused, if I recall you correctly by ashfall from an eruption cloud, bla bla bla. You also mentioned something about accretion or was that just my imagination ?
I'd also be keen to hear you thoughts on bedform sedimentology !

Rock formations like that are formed when Phil throws his anchor in and the ensuing tidal wave hits the shore at 300mph.

Graeme, this will give you some light reading for when you get back from your hol's. I'll bring my HCL down next time for a fizz.
