She's on the water Boss. I had a wee gleek at her before she left the blocks, nice rig, lotsa swanky electronics (autopilot too, FFS). Headroom was a bit restricted over the helm at 6'2", so you'd be steering from the seated position, but then, why stand?
So have you booked yet?

And remember that our halves are bigger than yours - there are three UK halves in an Irish Double (aka Glass or "Large Wan")

I like RIBnet, but I love Redbay. It's the old dilemma - can you Have it All?
I was prepared to give it a try!

Using the only Command that donegaldan obeys (Lunch?) got me a lift to Redbay Boat's yard. There we stared at Tom with our best soulful expressions until he asked - "do you pair of wasters want the 1050 again for something?"

Well of course we did. And so it was that we were in position to intercept Integrity as she made her way toward the north east corner of Ireland.
I do enjoy a good "flyby" when the closing speed is about 80kts - it's not against the Rules, but it gets Admin attention quicker than spam

Lord Vetinari (aka John Kennett) was at the reins of the 570 horses and he whipped them nicely into the mooring off Cushendall. Flushed with success at getting it on the first catch, he took his eye off the ball and Polwart pinched his seat in the company Jaguar. Such is life.
Tom gave us the Tour and showed the guys the route back to Scotland (in case the plotters wouldn't start )
I notice that the quality of biscuits on offer was of an even higher standard than usual. Not that I'm complaining

At this point donegaldan insisted on cashing in his lunch chit so we hit Harry's (owned and managed by Tom's brother Paddy) for as good a meal as usual. Once we had them stuffed with chips, beer and fizzy drinks, we loaded them into the 1050 to test the theory that a full belly makes a good accelerometer. Polwart's expression on the aft bench suggests that it does
Sadly, as ever, photography at 50kts was limited. Smiles were not.

Then he left me to helm whilst he slept in a reclined suspension seat!

He as always was in good fettle, with his usual good banter with his passengers!! I did mention your 'epic' journey as we were talking about the ERR

I can assure you that the big yin was not neglecting his duties and was dealing with an Admin issue as we crossed the Irish Sea...

I thought you would be proud of me for stealing a ride with no real justification!

JK was worried he'd have to make do with the 12" plotter!
Anyway here are a couple of shots of you Danny trying to break another of Tom's boats as we headed up Rathlin Sound!

Thanks - hey, it looks bigger in the pics! Seriously, you'll note how careful we were with it and if I'm not mistaken you guys were witnesses to the further offer of the 850 for Whisky Worrying Duty in September.
(I recorded it on my phone too, just to be sure )

Billy, no I was only up annoying JK for the day (yesterday). If the weather was like here then the cabin will have been appreciated today - but I suspect the Redbay has still not had a chance to demonstrate the true capabilities of its hull.

I fear not. Any man who relishes a pint o' plain in front of the designated driver/dictator needn't expect to be kept on the crew roster for too long!
(good on yer, Polwart, for not leaving me to face a dry lunch/drink alone )
