What do you want one of them for?
This ones got a windscreen and the guys are obvioulsy not on a mission to top up their tan!
Think its Australian/NZ forces, but the goggles and hats are far more trendy!
No gun mind, but i am sure you wouldnt argue with this lot either.

Think you will find this is the one in question.
They belong to the Navy Special forces teams (Seals - Sea/Air/Land )
based over here at Coranado in San Diego (Seal team 1 )Pacific and also Seal team 2 on Atlantic seaboard).
Don't see many for sale though!
http://www.usnavysealstore.com/index...&ref=GGAGNAD01
Might get a cap or shirt here but no boats I think.!!
Some info on their unit though at;
http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/...als/seals.html.
See them out on the water occasionaly but pretty sombre group!!!!!
Photo below is at last years Miramar air show and shows one of the boats I think you refer to,
( I think I need more help to steal one;maybe a few SBS guys over there can assist!!
cheers dal

Hi,
I have one very similar to the one pictured, and am preparing it for commercial use or sale now. It was recently de-commissioned by the Navy in Hawaii. I met the Navy Chief who operated it for the last few years at Pearl Harbor and he provided a good history of it's use on missions and in training SEALs. It's one of 18 built in Florida by Novamarine in 1992/93.
It's 30' x 11'5", twin 300hp Iveco diesels turning Parker (Vosper) Jets. I'm doing sea trials now after installing a re-built engine and jet drive - everything looks good. The boat is in remarkably good condition, needing only cosmetic work. It has Furuno radar, a Garmin 2010C plotter, sounder, Uniden Polaris VHF, infrared strobe, Fortress anchor, and much more. The hull is sound, needing only paint and repair of some minor dings. The tubes are in excellent shape and hold air well. I also got half a container full of spare parts that go with the boat..a complete set of new tubes, new jet drive in its crate, 3 jet shafts and multiple jet spares for almost everything, 4 jet housings and 14 buckets, several starters and alternators, injectors, endless gaskets and filters, and a spare engine that needs a rebuild - and there are a couple of other crates I haven't opened yet!
I've attached a picture of how she looked a couple of weeks ago, before some of the equipment was re-installed. I'm looking for a business partner to operate the boat somewhere (its in Hawaii, so thats the first choice), or will sell if necessary. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas....
aloha,
Bryan

When I see boats like these, I always wonder if they 'give way to sail'

These guys have a serious attitude!!! They don't give way for anything.
They even do it the hard way getting in and out of their boats.
The picture below shows how they deploy their swimmers. They also pick them up the same way with a loop to drag the swimmer up or even use their arms. And they do it at speed!!!!!
cheers dal

Have you any footage of them getting back into the tender, your explanation sounds intresting, if alittle dangerous.......

sunrider, how is the hull constructed on yours? there is another one for sale from the company that you bought yours that needs engines and has a couple of bites out of the keel, it looks like quite alot of wood with a very small layer of glass. any thoughts? my one was a zodiac make and is 100 % glass layup.

Pete
a film staring Demi Moore (my next wife by the way) depicted this meathod of recovery very well, the seals line up in the water and await the recovery boat, an inflatable tender is tied to the side and a guy hangs a large ring over the side, (just like the picture) the lined up seals raise an arm high and as the tender whizzes past they catch the loop inside their arm and the force pulls them up and over the edge of the tender, obviously Demi failed to be recovered and her entire squad were thrown back into the sea and made to swim back the 10 or so k's to the training base.
rent the film out or wait till its on the tele again as its worth watching

Just nuts........the pay isn't much more than standard US Marine pay!
Much the same for the british SBS......it's just another section of the armed forces and if you've worked for 'em you know how tight they are!!
Agreed though that jumping off a moving rib bay watch style hurts like a bstrd!!
