My pal had treadmaster wear patches on his rib & after a few years one of the guys nealt on the tube which was a little soft & where the treadmaster joined the hypalon it tore right along the join. No idea on the cause , we suspect the different stretch rates put strain on the fabric and weakened it over time. The upshot was the tubes were a right off & required replacement.
I recently fitted some hypalon fabric impression wear patches to another pals boat & they went on nice and looked the buisiness. After seeing my two pals boats I wouldnt use anything else but fabric impression for wear patches on my boat now. I can see you already have the treadmaster but thought I'd mention what happened to my pals boat
Good to see the progress will look like a new boat when its finished

Interesting ! I don't know much about tubes tbh so thanks for that. Might be an option of letting the tubes stretch and fit them next year so I'll definitely look into that cheers !

Template is made for the stainless transom plates, there will be one both sides and capped on top so will just slot over the transom when welded up. There will be 2 supporting tubes angled down to the deck so next job is glassing down some timbers with extruding bolts. The A frame will then work off the transom plate and supporting tubes to minimize the need for drilling holes in the transom/deck.

Any final updates on the project? Such a cool project, I'd really like to see the final outcome, even if it is a bit of time since the last post .

Great job!!

Cheers !

Still waiting on tubes to be fitted, hopefully be done in the next 2 weeks very hard to get someone atm. Made a custom mould for the console which I will be glassing at the weekend. Still waiting on the transom plates to be laser cut. Hoping to have her ready for water in August and I'll finish it properly over winter !

Good to see progression. Looks like a Ribcraft with the new tubes (not a bad thing)!

I have a newer hood, with more modern graphix, for that outboard.

If it's of any interest drop me a line.

Great project btw

[emoji848] methinks your missing something essential [emoji1787][emoji1787]

As for finished, my wife says I only finish anything the day before I sell it, be that cars boats or house. I find boats in particular are a continuous project to keep right
