Best Ribbing Pictures and Videos Of 2006
Thought i'd start a thread so people can post pictures of their best places visisted, things they have done and seen this year. Mine is got to be seeing dolphins in cardigan bay and learning to wakeboard.
I will post some pics when i find them.
Thanks
James

Our 2006
1. The freezing day we picked up our new Avon 620 from Bembridge Outboards;
2. Anchored close in at Osborne Bay;
3. Our first trip out to the Needles.

And of course the trip to Egypt of the Red Sea Rib Rally - 10 days in winds up to 55 knots! ........... And amazing sunsets - and of course some great company!

How 'bout less of the comedians leaping about in the yellow thing and more of the lithesome lovely sat on the yellow thing. Is that Cascais where the Zaps are racing?

Just a couple of pics of one of my favourite anchorages. In the pic showing the two beaches, the object looking like a submarine near the upper beach is a basking shark. It was in the bay when I arrived and still there when I left about four hours later.
The place is locally known as David Balfour's Bay, because it's the place where the hero of RLS's Kidnapped was washed ashore after being shipwrecked on the Torran Rocks. It's on the south side of Erraid at the west end of the Ross of Mull.
If you type Fidden into Google maps, choose the satellite view and scroll south, you'll see the bay and two beaches. Iona's just round the corner.
That was the longest trip yet in my RIB, 35 miles from home. Time, erly June this year. Saw porpoises, dolphins, lots of guillemots, razorbills, a couple of puffins and diving gannets. Great day out - could've stayed overnight if I'd had the time.
Tony

Yes it was Cascais where the P1's were racing - we (the Thundercats) were there as a demonstration and it was good fun although very tiring on the arms!
Forgot to mention my first outing in a P1 boat in Cowes in a twin V12 Lamborghini powered aluminium beast!
You mean Robyn - our apprentices young lady?

Sure is Stoo. We keep it secret. You have to be a nice person to find out about such places :-). You're right. Could be the Carribbean - until you touch the water. Then you know you're 56 deg. north. :-) By August, with a rising tide over hot sand a five minute swin might be comfortable - just.
Cheers Tony

Yep. Super on such a lovely day. I think the water comes straight from the Carribbean via the Gulf Stream. So tempting 'till you dip your toe in it. :-). Still, sitting where I was I was sweating in a tee shirt. No people either. That place is really busy if there's someone else on the beach.

LOL.. That sounds like our Tobermory too. I love to hear tourists shreek when they jump into the lake in front of my place.... By late August, the surface might hit 15C... but 6" down it's a very different tale...
Certainly not the place to impress the ladies when wearing a Speedo!

Second Picture is Just off the bathing pools at La Valette Guernsey
Third is Zap cat racing just outside of St.Peter Port Harbour

Lucky boy, in more ways than one. I spent six months toing and froing Cascais managing repairs on a big ketch that we damaged in a storm coming up from Gib. There's a nightclub next to the marina that operates a ticket system for drinks. You're given a card on entry, the barstaff make a mark for every drink and you pay when you leave. The two young deckies used to jump off of the balcony onto rocks and nip back to the boat having had a cheap night out.

2006 highlight for me was the SW Rib Noobers trip to the Scillies in June, the weather was fantastic, just a shame I haven't managed to get back there since
