Caught a Nice Couple of Bass in North Cornwall...
...well strictly speaking I watched while Maximus caught them. Having never had Bass before I baked one tonight whole, stuffed with Dill, Lemon, Parsley and Garlic....what a delicious fish
We caught three in total, a couple of 5/6 pounders and a slightly smaller one.
Learnt a lot from watching Maximus and will be getting myself a spinning rod and some plugs ASAP !

Nice fish try them steamed with fresh ginger & spring onions. Just before you serve it, heat some sesame oil to smoking in a pan & pour it over the fish, crisps the skin up a treat.

Nice Bass!
Did better than Whisper and myself yesterday. All we had was a couple of Doggies and lines full of red weed.

Nice.
I've never caught Bass above surface. Are welding goggles and a daft hat required kit?

Before I met up with Whisper, he and his family had been drifting Southampton water with some small micro feathers and caught some decent sized Herrings and a couple of Mackies. Perfect for the BBQ or for smoking.

Decent Spinning outfit=9'ishRod and Fixed spool,'Saltwater'model a bonus, but not essensial.
I like Braid, although again not essensial,10ib nylon will do..and a few Lures-Abu Toby's-Dexter Wedges ect and some Pluggs I'd recomend Rappalla's. Floating J13's and J11's,a few snap swivells,a Priest and you'll be sorted for most shallow water Bassing, from Boat or shore
You can also use this outfit for fishing Live Sandeel which can be VERY effective!
'Operation Sea Angler' and 'Hooked on Bass' by my old mate Dr,Mike Ladle are THE diffinitive works on the subject and contain a wealth of information-recently reprinted!
