We went over to Cowes last Friday. On the way back we saw the coastguard helicopter Whiskey Bravo (which is actually the one normally based in Portland) doing an exercise with a Wightlink ferry. So, we went over to have a look........
The last one shows the helicopter flying over the top of us. That was quite terrifying as we had watched the guardian the night before. He came over and hovered for a moment about 30 feet about us. Fortunately the helicopter didn't crash on top of us, instead giving us a wave and flying off.
Good videos. For clarification Whisky Bravo is the helicopter covering Solent Coastguard area and will be replaced by another helicopter called Mike Uniform. This is due to the Roll Out of the new smaller helicopters which will be coming to the Solent in March.
