Cobra RIB refurb
Ok, here goes....
I bought 'Hissing Sid' in the middle of 2010 and to cut a long story short it needs some repair work due to a bodged deck installation and being "well used" by it's previous owner. Not to mention I want to make it my own and perhaps fiddle with the layout which is not your usual Cobra one, having two jockeys in the rear and an after thought raised foredeck.
I hope to get it done for the spring and managed to get everything in place over the weekend to get going. I will document it in this thread for those that are interested as I did with my Tornado refurb a few years ago.

This may take a while ....
As I got her:

Moving the primer bulb, fuel filter etc up into the console would be a good way to tidy up the rear end...
I should think you could get all the pipes and cables to go through a single trunk if you wanted...
Where do all the pipes come back up, in the console?

What make are those speakers and do you get any interference to the compass with them?

Some come up in the starboard jockey, where the battery is, the others into the console. May put in a rear bench, undecided yet.

Don't know I'll have a look as they are now in a box in the garage, no interference with them though.

Cheers-I've got that Poly Planar unit to fit and haven't decided on speakers yet. I don't really want to go down the big amp/wakeboard tower speakers on the A-frame route as it just looks chav.
I think I'll start a thread on it rather than hijack yours...

Judging by the cracking around the transom knees I guess these were added due to concerns over the transom ?
It might be worth getting that looked at, perhaps some work on the transom would enable you to ditch the metal braces.?

It's being more than looked at, the whole boat structure is being done by a professional boat builder, so the deck is coming up and the transom and hull sorted. It's the main reason I am doing the refurb.
Cheers Chris.
I will do the mods and re-fit myself later on.

IF the transom is made good then you should not need the Forest Gump metalwork ;-)
