Oh do keep up Gavin!
Codprawn doesnt have a RIB. Of that we are fairly certain. He certainly claims many things - cars, friends with cars, girlfriend, business(es) etc etc which may well be true. Although it does all rather smack of the schoolboy 'my dads car will do 110', 'well mine dads will do 140 and my friends dads car will do 2000 miles per hour so there!' So either Cod is a suave, sophisticated, successful man of mystery who men want to be and women want to have, or.............he's a 15 year old schoolboy who reads too many car/boat mags and spends too much time on the internet. (Of course I am happy to eat my hat when Cod comes out of the closet so to speak.
Oh, and the boat (should it exist) appears to be a Prosport. Apparently taken 12 months to build, but paid for in advance. We'll see!

When have I EVER claimed to have a RIB????
The reason I joined RIBNET was to LEARN about RIBs from people a lot more experienced with them than me!!!
I know a fair bit about Land Rovers - engines - engineering and maybe even computers!!!
Women I know absolutely nothing about!!!

Hmmm...post number 5 was spectacularly childish, seemingly in character.

I see so not having a RIB stops logical thought does it???
Telling someone not to jump off a cliff because they might get hurt does NOT mean you have to try it yourself first!!!!

I was (I think) the youngest person in the world to own one!! Unfortunately I made the short sighted decision to put a turboed V6 in instead of the chevy - the chevy 'upgrade' project is slowly climbing up the todo list.
I believe the record breaking GTR is for sale for IRO 60K, then you'd own the fastert 0-100-0 production car in the world.
I love em!

Nice shots Matt
Codprawn you don't have to have a RIB to post on RIBnet...and anyone can post advice. There has got to be a 'caveat emptor' element to actually taking advice posted online however!
If possible it's good to get 'out there' with other people and learn from others who know what they are doing. In our experience, the vast majority of peeps we have met through RIBnet have been excellent boating companions and fantastically generous with advice and help on the water. Those remain the best indicators for us at any rate!
(Oh you don't have to post details of your new RIB or of any of your possessions online either . But we are always happy for others when they get a nice new craft, whether it's a canoe or a Cigarette!!!)

True but fairs fair. If you do bollock along about this new RIB you're getting, how its going to be fitted out, whats best etc etc then you've eventually gotta show the world your new boat. Cos we're a sceptical bunch and its a cruel world

Good for you Matt - BAD decision about the engine though!!!
I have specced one up for myself - it will cost about £80k to build it myself - may take the plunge next year - advantage is you don't pay it all out in one go!!!
Think I would have to have mine in yellow - as loud as the engine!!!
Looks like you built it yourself - how much wok involved and what gerarbox did you use???
By the way have you nicked my girlfriend??? That looks scarily like her in some of the pics - or it did about 2 years ago when her hair was just like that - changed colour a few times since!!!

Ouch!!! Kick me where it hurts why not. This is all a few years ago now - finished the car in good ole '99 (started in 97). In 97, age 21, I was worrying about a 21 year old being uninsurable, plus the ultima was actually designed for the renault V6 & un1 transaxle - hence the horrific driveshaft angles you see with the chevy install. But, what nobody knew was that the renault turbo is a very slightly different block to the NA, so it didn't fit anyway - ended up spending as much as if I'd put in a SBC & G50 getting it to fit & run DOH!
You can get some mad motors, both from american speed (official ultima supplier), but I'm quite a fan of this one: http://www.worldcastings.com/new/feature0307.shtml
That's the long gone ex in the car - a proper nightmare, good riddance.

We know you're only teasing, Codders. I bet she looks like Sophie Anderton really, doesn't she?

Big block ones are really too heavy!!! the best bet is the small block taken out to 6 litres - supercharging would be ideal. The normally aspirated engine Ultima use is 640hp!!!
