Custard Pie around Scilly
A short video of my son and I between Tresco, Bryher and Samson last week. Taken from a quadcopter belonging to one of the locals.

It's a great place for boats - just watch out for the many rocks if you venture to the Eastern Isles or Western Rocks.

Sure enough!...you get a sense of how shallow it is between the Islands in the Video
On Big Springs you can walk between em!
Been there before, and it defiantly pays to check your sounder!

Nice video , using a quadcopter certainly makes better viewing than the back of an A frame.

A couple of thousand years ago, the Scillies were a single land mass. Walls & field boundaries can be seen on the (now) sea bed at LWS. Then around 1500 years ago we invented cars & planes & started burning fossil fuels & overnight the icecaps melted & all the polar bears died & the Scillies flooded & the cows all drowned, that's according to the BBC anyway

Cheers - the bloke controlling the 'copter is anchored in the RIB that I approach in the middle of the vid. He had small screen on the controller so he could use the camera more easily than some of the others. I think it was a DJI Phantom...

Did he just get it to take off from his deck ? ... and more importantly where/how did he land it ? ... did he get it to follow him in ?

He was anchored - launched it from the top of the case that he keeps the controller in and landed it back on the boat by bringing it down and grabbing the bottom of it as it hovered above his head.
