Dartmouth Trip 2006.

Hello All.

Spent a fantastic, yet tiring, week or so on our annual trip to Devon camping with my two lads and a load of friends, had 3 RIBs between us that we used nearly every day, Diving, tearing around, towing doughnuts etc, with good food and beer in the evenings. The Local BP garage and the Bar at the site did well for a week.

We didn't see a spot of rain the whole time, and although the wind was offshore, and quite strong some days, the daily trip across Start Bay from launching in Dartmouth to the beach we use, Beesands, was great. My lads were upset though that we didn't get a couple of days of big waves to do some decent body boarding!

I did have some interesting moments with the boat on its trailer when I met Motorhomes and Caravans coming the other way on the narrow lanes near the camp site. I also managed to bump into both Paul Tilley, and Ed from Olmec, who both came to say hello after recognising the Boat from images on Rib.net. I can't decide if 'Nashers Revenge' is Famous, or Infamous!

Got home about 5pm on Sunday and spent a few hours sorting out the boat, wetsuits, camping gear etc, then collapsed on the sofa.
Monday morning I was off to work for the first time in 5 months so came home after my first day completely exhausted and went to sleep on the sofa and missed the Church meeting.

Here's a few images of the Ribs anchored off Beesands, and the entrance to the Dart. The beach shots show just how calm Start Bay was most of the week.

Nasher.

Thanks Biggles.

Re-covered the jockeys and rear bench in Grey vinyl before I went, as well as some more general tidying up since you saw it. I also glassed some dividers in to the port side jockey base to stop my tools etc moving around so much.
I've finaly got all the bits together for the MP3 system, so will be fitting that soon.

Trouble is, I've got the bug to build a 7.5m inboard diesel from a bare hull and tubes, but it will be a year or so before I can even think about it.

See you soon.

Nasher,

Can you keep us posted with the MP3 player fit.
I guess quite a few of us would like to see how that goes.
MP3 players are really cheap now. I suppose you just need some sort of amp.
