Bigmuz7, Funny, after filling her the first time, I know realize that buying Willk a fish supper was like applying a plaster to an arterial bleed ! But as he says, what goes around... Good job I eat more than he :-)

John, On a similar thread, knowing what the Soozie 140 will consume, I probably owe Redbay the price of another RIB for the amount of motion lotion I burned up on the Beast.. And I'm not even trying to compare my little Soozie 140 with the twin 300's on that baby !

So.... The agreed path of action....
Don't take your boat out too soon after The Beast's trip to Easdale, or it will just seem slow
And I concurred, but after 5 days I needed my unleaded fix, so was time to burn some more dinosaur bones and splash Deep six for the first time.

Now funny, the day you expect everyone about, there were next to none.
Ended up doing a single handed long line launch which was interesting, but something we do a fair amount of.
That and negotiating the fishermen's lines trying to fish for old boots from the pier,
but after a nice and steady pace, she got splashed, and proceeded to zip across Lough Swilly in Donegal.

The other thing about taking a boat out on your own, I discovered, is that its difficult to put together a nice selection of photos, for you guys and my own album, so the best I could come up with was a internal shot while at the transom of the boat. The day was calm F2-3, but steadily freshening into the west, and by the time I was recovering had come up to a 5, which singlehanded is slightly interesting. However beats the gale of wind coming tonight.

Also, to my surprise, the boat performed admirably without added weight (willk)
and was happy up to 38 knots easy, and she will make 40 easy.
I managed to clock about 40 Nm traveled in a few hours and stopped for a fish and chips that could not be beat, Salt n Batter, Rathmullan if any of you ever visit.

So there she is, broken in, and happily nipping along the donegal waves.
I fully intend to get a couple exterior shots of the boat, with a chase boat (if I can find one that can keep up) - Yes the beast could, but thats an entirely different thread
So keep an eye here, more to follow, but thanks to all for the best wishes.

Its been about 6 hours since I was out, and I'm still smiling like a cheshire cat!
Always wanted one of them Redbay 6.1's and now I know why!

It was surprising how many were actually out,
there was a whole fleet of sailing boats racing just behind the photo;
but seeing as they are frowned upon here, I left them out of shot

Thinking a nice Go Pro hero on the back Aframe would help taking shots,
but then as all will tell you, there will be some big bloke blocking out half the picture

Nice one Dan - lovely boat. Bit easier on the pocket than the beast. Will be up in Swilly the first weekend of June,fishing out with Angela from Rathmullan. A crowd of us have booked the charter, and are staying in friends house in the town.
Will keep an eye out for a blue streak screaming across the lough.
Want to get my own vessel round for a bit of tope fishing for a few days soon.

Will be fishing on Sat 2nd June in Explorer, and i dare say we will stroll round later to the Beachcomber for the necessaries. Sunday if we are fit will be trout fishing on the lough.
