Deep Six, meet world....
So.... When we start, we all start out small with aspirations of greater things.
And mine has been many many years in the arrival, from starting off on small boats,
Playing around on ribs of various sizes, owning 4m porno searider (yes Im part of that group too)
To having full access to multiple RNLI boats, I still have not been entirely satisfied.
Most of you will have a good idea where this is going, but today, I became a very very proud owner of my first Redbay 6.1 meter Rib.
There have been some of you consulted quietly regarding engines and I'd like to thank you for any advice.
However as I was told by someone, "This is your boat, Time to S*** or get off the pot", well today she got trailered to her new home in Donegal.
A big thanks to all the lads in Redbay who have her prepared for water....
To everyone else I hope to see you all on the water, if not around Donegal, then Scotland, IOM or further afield :-)
Happy Ribbing
Donegal Dan & Deep Six

Very nice! Like the console especially, is that the leg-over one?
I'm interested to see Corryvreckan behind....I thought she had been in France for over a year now and with a completely different name..

Hi Dan you finally did it! Nice rib and of course it's a Redbay touch influence by a certain man no doubt. Will it be coming over the water to ERR?
Many happy hours on her.
See you soon
Cheers
Billy

To all, many thanks.
She is a fine craft, probably not everyone's cup of tea, but perfect for what I want.
She is a curious layout with two over leg seats and the wide console, with a small bottle rack on the back.
Perfect for me as I normally cruise around with smallish numbers onboard and still do a little diving.
There was a lot of consideration but her being a 6.1 and twin axel makes her very easily trailerable.
The intentions are to trailer her around and get to cover more water than normal. I do have big plans for the summer billy and I'm sure you will be seeing her before the summers out ;-) a spot of nice WX would really make the summer!
As for Corry still being in the yard, I believe it is a universal constant of Cushendall. There will always be a Corryvrecken sitting outside, they just keep getting bigger ;-) thats all !

It's Official!
Phew! Keeping that a secret for three weeks almost killed me. Well done fella, nice RIB - health to use her! Sorry I didn't get in here quicker, but I hadda work today on account of haulin her home o'er the hills yesterday...
For those of you looking for a mint Stormforce 6.1m at sensible money - tough t1tty, she's gone. Lightly used, stored in a shed, fawned on - this was the one. He just hadda buy her. That and my Commission Cheques had been getting a bit lighter lately
As for Corryvreckan - when one passes on, the next one is named. It's not done to call the previous ladies the C word. There's only one Corryvreckan. For avid Corry spotters, note her hull numbers - RNLI stylee "11-61", making her the sixty first 11m.
So anyway - Donegaldan has a real boat in the yard and a VERY nice SR4 on the market. Orderly queue pls

TT races
Brian, Many thanks
Not sure if the TT races would be the same without the invading donegal crew on a Redbay!
Have a notion to swing by peel, see some buddies over there so you never know,
and be nice to bump into you again too.
Will knock heads with Bruce B in Esadale and see if there is a plan in the hatching :-)
Dan

Good Lord no!
Swilly Reivers Rule No. 7 - "The Skipper shall pay for the vessels fuels and consumables. The Crew shall pay for the food and drink consumed during and for one hour after passage"
