Dublin Boat Show
Just back from the boat show. IMO the best show ever. Here's a few pics from the show. Certainly more ribs on show than London.
The 4 RibNet geezers in the pic are
Jon (cork Rib), Andre, Stuart (powerboat) and Ian (IanE)

Pictures of Boat show Ireland
Can I be really cheeky and ask for you lot to post as many pictures of Ribs as possible of the Craft on show in Ireland I would like to see the latest offerings please I could not make the fair so I will have to wait for Ribex which I believe is the best show of its kind in this country although I have not been before. Has anyone else been to this show ?

Ribex
I went to my first show last year and found a very good display of RIBS on the water that you could get on & go out in. For me i would like to have seen more bits and bobs on the land side (this was because I was just finishing the the referb on ours and that what i needed then) but well worth the trip and the more people that go the more that will show. If you do a search on "ribex" you will find reviews of last years and some details on the show this year. Or someone may be able to post a link. There is also a show in Southampton by sports boat & RIB mag.

Thank you for this , I must say this craft looks very nice indeed. I believe from talking to others it performs just as well as it looks. Is it true that Parker are used by Police and various other government organistaions in Europe ? I have seen a few now in the Uk and the build looks great. Any more pictures would be appreciated on this forum

What do you get for the €37,000 & VAT? Just curious as I have a friend in the market for a new 6-6.5m RIB. Price seems kinda steep compared to UK prices though, however I could be wrong depending on the kit included?
Any pics of the XS/Tornado stand please??

Didn't notice the lack of Bods in the pics. Does look that way, I agree. It was very busy though the day I was there (Friday) and I believe the Wednesday was mobbed. No info on Saturday, but I guess being the weekend it would also be busy.
Because of the large entry of exhibitors this year, there was a massive tent (can't spell marquee ) as well as the main Simmonscourt hall. A big difference to the days when they only used half or two thirds of the hall. Long may it continue

Having looked at this company on their website it would appear that given the current rate of exchange , specification and performance that it would appear to be a bargain. Have you seen the prices of the other craft at the fair Tornado , Redbay for example, do you have any price comparisons for the same specification and ability ? I would be keen to see what one actually gets for this money from the others at the fair.Looking at the prices in the Uk for Parker from their importer and comparing say this model to other companys offerings it would appear that they are well poised price wise for the quality and specification.I am always keen to hear other points of view as I am currently looking for a new rib myself .I simply wish I could have made the show but I am afraid work dictated otherwise.

I have no show prices for Redbay/Tornado or any of the other similar show boats, ie: Ribcraft, Excalibur, etc. This is why I am asking in the hope that somebody will let us know what kind of prices are being advertised at the show.
The reason I think €44770 (€37000 & VAT) is a bit steep is that I've been quoted €33500(inc. VAT) for a 6.5m Tornado w/150 Optimax (This includes all the usual kit: console, seating, Icom VHF, A-frame, double axle trailer, full set of covers, hydraulic steering, etc, etc.) To be fair the quote doesn't include a GPS Chartplotter/ Sounder so add €2000 to that price to budget for them. Also the quote wasn't a "show price".
So I suppose what I am asking is why should a prospective owner (my friend) buy a 6.3 Parker w/135 Opti instead of the 6.5 Tornado w/150 Opti.
I am trying to source the best package for my friend and would like to explore all options. Stuart, obviously I would not expect you to discuss quotations on a public forum so can you e-mail/PM me please?
Also how does the Parker compare to the Lencraft you had as my friend is trading up from a 6.5 intruder.

Brian for sure not. The fair was very well attended and the photos which I am just about to post were taken just before the vast crowd of boating fans were granted permission to enter the halls. If I had not taken my pictures when I had, I would have probably only had the backs of humans and somewhere bits and pieces of boats
It was a great show , well attended with lots and lots to see.
I enjoyed very much meeting fellow forum members Cork Rib, IanE, Tsunami, Powerboat. Look forward to seeing you again at Ribex
