Far Fetched - Maiden Trips
Joshua (15) and I took her out for three trips on three days last week out of Lymington.
First pics are en route from Fareham. Later ones in Lymington.

Nice looking boat Bruce. Have fun.
Hope to see you around some time.
Brian
p.s. Have you got Farfetched on steroids. It's a mighty lot of boat for 3.2m or are you just being modest...

took her out a week ago in force 5/6/7 just around the mouth of the Lymington river so we could run to safety if we got scared. Had a lot of fun, but returned to base when our courage - not the boat - failed! Could never have done that in a 3.2M SIB - unless we were experts like Keith in Scotland!

Looks sweet Bruce!! Hows the Opti goin?? Have you got her run in yet? What have you taken her up to so far? I love leaving her rip and that sound just above 3000rpm all the way to WOT
Quick tip, just to be on the safe side I wouldn't show your cars reg in any pictures you post online. After all RIBnet is the top search result for "Rib" on Google so this is where any RIB thieving scum will come to do their research and find out what address your car is registered to.
We don't want them finding out where that sweet machine is kept now do we!!

In the random chop outside the Lymington River mouth in Force 6 we were finding that about 24 knots was the most we could average against the wind. That was basically getting us to bounce from peak to peak (I think). Trimmed right down helped. Certainly was fairly smooth. Going with the wind was more challenging. Just as we were going fine, suddenly we came off the wave, and there was a danger of ending up at what seemed like a downwards angle, so trimming up as much as I could while keeping engine from 'buzzing' seemed to help. But we got a bit wet. We went much faster though. This is called learning by experience! Joshua (15) quickly picked up the basics of what sort of wave patterns to slow down for!
Great fun, never uncomfortable, just quite scarey!
Forgot to check if Opti was run in yet - done 7+ hours so guess so. We had a blast down Southampton water at 40+ knots - took off pretty effectively on some ferry wash, but the landing felt secure and predictable (Joshua was driving and showing off to those on the ferry!). Basically I love the response of the Opti in the chop, find I am agressively moving from low throttle to nearly WOT and back as I learn to respond to the wave structures. Guess we all develop our own driving techniques though. My objective is to avoid any 'crashes' as we land!
Yes I adore her!
Wayne, your boat looks really sophisticated. What are the 'lights' in the front of the forward bench seat?
Cheers
Bruce

Lovely, looking boat. We quite often cruise to Lymington (although less frequently in the Winter !), we will keep a eye out and give you wave. Had an Optimax on our last RIB, great engine I miss the hooligan exhaust note !
