Looks mint - tell the miserable git to get a life. Some boats are faster than that at idle - my RIB was doing 7kts at tickover with one prop I tried!!!

problem is - as I discovered in Fowey Harbour last year....
at 6 knots the flooding hull is starting to drain and when it does your doing
9 knots without moving the throttle
Harbour master gave me a ticking off I had to settle for 5 knots!

Thanks for all the positive comments, so far I'm very happy with her.

I've only ever had twin cylinder engines before so I'm amazed how smooth the triple is, very nice.

The motor's had some fairly major work done recently so WOT is off the menu (for 2 tank full’s) but weather/shipping forecast permitting I'm hoping to launch from Weymouth on Saturday. Last time I launched a boat down there I used the yacht club slipway down on the way to Portland which seemed pretty decent, would anybody recommend anywhere else instead?

Was also thinking of experimenting with the flooding hull, thought about blocking it with duct tape temporarily just to try it out, has anybody tried this?

Don't forget that the flooding hull is directly in front of your water pickups. If you block the hull off, make sure that if it comes off it's stiff enough not to be sucked onto the water intakes and stop water flow.

Maybe not worth the risk then if you think it's possible the tape could come off.

Any other common household (or garagehold) items that could be used to block the rear hole?

Not saying I'm gonna keep it that way, just wanna have a play around and release the potential acceleration

Apparently a tennis ball works, I've never tried it myself though.

I'll give it a try, at least that couldn't be sucked in to the water ways

Thanks samt

or stick on a bit of ply or something similar with some sikaflex, should come off easily enough but only when you want it too!
