Thanks Louise. You guessed right. In this case though it's the Awsome Power Of A Fully Operational Motorboat, not mothership.
Nick, though I don't have much boating experience and am still taking it easy on the outboard for the break-in period, my opinion is it handles great with the hull extension. No porpoising, the sponsons barely touch the water standing still and tubes out of the water when planning. With the Suzuki DF140 it takes off like a rocket.
I'll keep a look out for you too Dal. I bought a very basic boat from Ribcraft USA through Matthew. The extras I got include 40 gallon under deck fuel tank, 1670 dtx hypalon, and reinforced transom. They have a picture of my boat on their website as an example of the base boat features:
http://www.ribcraftusa.com/cg58c.html. The boat was shipped to me in early July for $1000 U.S. dollars. The outboard I bought from the Port of San Luis, California. I was in Seattle as I was bringing my boat back from Canada where the hull extension, light mast, etc. were added. I do dive La Jolla a lot. Mainly the shores but also Scripps Canyon. With my boat a lot more dive sites will be available.
