So is this 'race' version from the same mould? or are there any hull form differences.

Or is it just different construction allowing a lighter build, in other words, is the only difference between a pleasure version and a race version, the weight?(other than things like engine height/offset)
I ask because if the hull form is the same, one can apply the 'levi formula' for calculating the difference in speed with various power and weight changes. this formula is usully accurate to 1 or 2 mph.

From the little I know about the RIB (Pieter knows more obviously) The hull is the same design. However, things change as far as weight is concerened. The racing is hull is lighter but same strenth as the family version. Also the deck mould has some differences.

But I'd better let Pieter to elaborate on these points since this is his baby.

After editing: I forgot to say that my boat with everything on weighs about 1000-1200 kgs ex pax.

The Falcon website refers to the use of advanced laminating techniques little evidence of it here. I certainly don't want to buy one because of it.

Frankly unless Cookee or Gareth are racing I don't give a flier who wins a race in South Africa, although I accept it was a thrilling event and respect all those who took part, drivers and manufacturers

RW I would like to thank you for your 'very constructive' and 'highly technical' comments which incidently I beleive must come from your years of 'extenssive experience, education and hard work' on laminating issues when building, repairing and producing boats by proxy I may add.
May I ask then, if you are another 'expert' like many around the World may I ask if you have any qualifications or experience or expetise even on these matters to substantiate your comments?
Would be very interested to know!!

VERY SAD!!
