Force 7 To 8 In Łeba Poland ;-)
Hi, Andre Already posted one of my photos. But here are a few more.
On saturday we had a force 7 to 8 blowing and the sea had waves ranging from 3 to 4metres at some stages even 5 i was told by the Polsih SAR. However very few of the real big waves ;-).
As we had driven all the way upto ŁEBA we decided to take the RIBS OUT FOR A SPIN . Going all the way to bornholm would be too tiring.
Rib 1) Parker 900 Baltic MED layout- belongs to Mr. Stefan Cysdorf, an experienced seaman, he showed what his rib can do.
Rib2) Parker 900 Baltic "seasafari" - This is a Parker demo boat and was helmed by me Chris Scott, later by Arek Puchacz Polish SAR member. My father had a go aswell and did very well.!!
I'll attach some pics so you can have a look ;- ))

Awesome pics
Can you treat a RIB like that on a regular basis without risking structural damage to it with heavy landings?
Being new to RIBs I am cautious (paranoid) about damaging something by over-doing it, but on the other hand if you can do that then I needn't worry about my pitiful attempts at airborne-ness
At the moment I sort of draw the line about where the jockey starts to hurt my b*****cks on landing, which is a long way before anything as impressive as those photos

Some of the best pics I have ever seen. Really really good. That is what RIBs are for!!!
One thing I did notice is that once again 2 engines does make the stern a liitle heavy on the landings unless you move the console right forward - of course with passangers on board things will be different.
Coming out of the harbour entrance is pretty similar to where I keep my boat - you just have to nail the throttle and go for it!!!

Fantastic pictures but Iam glad it wasn’t me out there in those seas think I would require a change of underwear in fact I just would not have bothered to launch the other thing is and I may be wrong but when the boat leaves the water theres none going through the engine to cool it does this do any harm to the motors

It is for such a short period of time it doesn't matter - what you have to watch is if you run the engine too high all the time - on a transom jack for example - then you need a water pressure guage to make sure everything is ok.
It is great fun going out in seas like that in a good boat. As long as you don't do anything silly it is ok - remember most boats come to grief when they meet the land.......

Those conditions are much worse and were close to the shore - deeper water is usually safer. Also it is a smaller boat - more ballast at the bow would have helped - I would have sent the crew forward I think. I have watched that video many times but thanks for the link again.
Yes I do have a transom jack fitted but sadly the person who fitted it didn't have a clue. The engine is in the normal position almost at the top of the travel so I have loads of down but no up!!! When I next pull the boat out I will remedy that. It is handy though to drop the engine down for tight turns to stop the prop venting.
Next time I go out in such conditions you are welcome to tag along - the Lougher Estuary is quite exciting to say the least - coming in can be like that a lot of the time - even in a Force 4!!!

That’s a very kind offer Codders I feel strangely flattered and very honoured that you’re inviting someone to come along and meet you.
But having said that the only way I would go out in those sorts of conditions is in a 9 mtr. Prosport with you skippering and me wearing a dry suit.

The sea is pretty warm at the moment - with the tides around here if there were problems you could probably walk back to the harbour. It is quite a strange place - you are miles out and you can be only up to your knees in water!!!
