Force 11 (up to 120 kms/hour winds) in Greece

At the begining of this week I said about the very bad weather we had in Greece.

Here are few photos (which for people who may know the area show the severity of the situation

Manos, what you call a Force 11 in Greece is called a slight chop here in Torbay.
Goodness knows what they call it around Cape Wrath.

Hi Brian

I studied in Plymouth (for 5 years) and I have been around Torquay a few times. I also live in the UK and I know about the weather and I agree with you.
However, force 11 in Greece is something unheard of and I thought that it worth mentioning

On the subject of bad weather do you know that it has been published by the Statistical Services that most casualties during the summer months involve BRITISH Tourist that try to sail the Aegean??

accidents @ sea

manos , the sea needs to be respected @ all times, i agree, but if you check the stats you gave us i suspect you will find most accidents occur when you mix our bright eyed youths on a club 18 - 30 jolly with that most important of greek inventions ( uzzo) together ,( ps i sould know ive been pissed up on the stuff in corfu myself a few times mate )regards bryan

Fully agree Brian however, there are also (a minority that is) or more mature adults (over 30) that get into unecessary trouble.

Any way going to more important issues i.e. OUZO you never mix it either with beer, wine or any other spirits.

If you do you become commatosed for the next 2/3 days (as you probably know) LOLOL

Cheers
