Forget Paris - lets go round The World
Slowly running out of challenges for rib cruises, so decided we ought to have a go at going round The World today. Martini and La Frette set off mid-afternoon and completed our circumnavigation in about 30 mins, which included stopping to take photos!

Oriana
A few years back we went out to see Oriana anchored a few miles east of Jersey. It was a not very pleasant evening but we wanted to be nosey so ventured out.
Much to both our and one of the guests surprise we came eye to eye, the people on the rib wearing drysuits and the delightful lady completely starkers

Sorry to disappoint, but I went round the World in under 5 mins a couple of months back
But I have no evidence as I forgot my camera

Quite agree, still not as bad as that floating office block.
A couple of yammies on the back with trim and tilt and she could do beach landings on Bramble Bank or where ever! Been good advice on here, on how to do it!

There are most likely very few people on her, generally. I saw her at sea here once and again - she was lightly populated. With only 165 "apartments" OB, I'd guess her normal headcount is well below 200 (plus crew)?
I thought she was butt ugly.

Only spotted one person lounging on a balcony and a couple behind glass at bridge level, probably in a cafe or restaurant. Just as we were leaving the shore boat turned up to reload a few geriatrics after their excursion to the bright lights of St Helier.

Yep, couldnt agree more.....Cruise ships these days are more about quantity rather than quality...shame
Here's a couple of pics with the first showing a modern, typical cruise ship designed to carry its passangers in the utmost comfort and the second shows a typical livestock carrier designed to carry 3000+ animals jam packed aboard the same ship....

Ahh, i see the offending boat that is inconveniencing Abramavich is 'Kingdom5kr'... ex-'Nabila' She was the pride of the now deceased arms dealer Adnan Kashoggi. And for you anoraks, was the yacht featured in the James bond film 'Never Say Never Again'....I know her well.

They may not all be beautiful, but the more modern cruise ships I see the more I am amazed by the feat of engineering and design that must go into making one. Far more impressive than some of these supposed hi-tech buildings that get their architects knighted.

I cant disagree with that but you still wouldnt catch me on one .. ever ..

Why bother with the pigeons when there are so many shitehawks (seagulls) flying around?....
(and before i get slated for that...yes, i do know they are protected..)
