There's a B&B in Lymington that comes well recommended - The Bosuns Chair and a couple of good ones just 15 mins across the water in Yarmouth IOW. Christchurch also has a good slipway, but I'm not as familiar with the town's facilities. There are also boatyards and storage/craneage facilities in Southampton. Some Travel Inns have a carpark where you can reverse the boat up to the building so that you would have to move the car to attempt theft of the boat.
Alternatively, don't bring the boat and give us a shout when you're coming up this way, but I know what it's like, and it's good to have your own boat with you.

Thanks for the offer but own boat is essential
I am formulating a bit of a plan in my head which would go something like
1: Drive up to Lymington for early afternoon saturday
2: Launch boat and travel to Yarmouth on IOW
3: Get a marina berth or mooring in Yarmouth for sturday night and B&B
4: Round the IOW on the Sunday
5: Back to Lymington - recover and drive home Sunday evening.
Does anyone have any specific advice on how far in advance i will need to book things like moorings and B&B in Yarmouth on IOW and where i can safely leave the car and trailer in Lymington (boatlaunch.co.uk lists TOWN QUAY & BATH ROAD which of these has over night parking for car and trailer) - unfortunately I will have a load of fair weather sailors with me so would like to leave booking anything until I was sure of a nice FAT high pressure was going to be sitting on us (otherwise i risk doing it on my own - or loosing freinds drgging them along where they dont want to go). I was thinking of doing this trip sometime shortly after the easter break...
(sorry if ive hyjacked the thread a little but it was the video that was the inspiration for me wanting to do this.)
Thanks for you help... Oh and if any one has a better plan id like to here those as well - im open to suggestions from those that know the area better than me...
