id forgotten that there were two 5 o'clocks!
God that's early!
was a good day on the water, great to meet some of you
Thanks to PD Tony and Mick for the knowledge of where to park etc would have took us hours to sort out otherwise.
Herding cats was a very apt description.
I thought the last boat to actually finish (without the engine) was the ham sea scouts, all under 15, they showed some grit as they looked about done with 4 miles to go, but they made it all the way to the finish under there own steam.
i'll post some pics once the wife has uploaded them.
**No disrespect to the lifeboat that thing is huge and must take an huge effort to get moving!**
We made a bolt for it Saturday evening as its only 1hr 20 mins to home..... well we tried, hooked the boat up dragged her out, stuck the number plate on, went to drive off..... flat battery.
Called the AA, then went back to see if anyone was still at the camp site, but it was all quiet. Luckily one of the guys from the film rib was camping in the lane, and he gave us a jump start.
Got home OK, then tried to restart the car, dead again, seems the battery died. New one should be sorted tonight though.
