No idea on Barrus but love the boat - Humber’s stock hills are tempting aren’t they!

please note the boat is set back as much as a can due to no engine weight when engine fitted will then adjust the axles to give me about 70kg nose weight

I had heard that the Mercurys were in short supply, due to high demand in the US. The EU tariffs probably haven’t helped either.

My boat build was delayed because Barrus withheld the engine that was destined for me - they wanted to have it on display at a shareholders meeting as it was "new tech" back then. At the time I was quite peeved and inquired would the sign on it say "Example of how to upset customers and damage share value!"
That said, it's the time of the year that outboards are hard to get and very often manufacturers can't meet national delivery quota - I've heard the USA has a tendency to get what it wants and "rest of world" get sloppy seconds.

Talk to Andy Andrews at Berthon - he might be able to help source an engine.

Can I ask some questions? What are the two smart gauges you have above the helm? How is the fuel economy of the Mercury?
Edit - also is the throttle digital throttle an d shift and is the trim on the left hand side or right I am trying to think if the mercury control is handed so to speak

re new 7.6 mts humber rib
hi the mercury engine comes with 2 smart gauges inc in the package , on the left of the throttle control showing fuel used/fuel in tank engine pressure etc/ used about 3/4 gallons per hr all are fly by wire so the responce is instant the 2 gauges above the steering wheel are battery monitors .

Thanks Stephen - how does the handedness of the throttle work?
I guess the trim is on the left? IS there a neutral lock?

hi
the throttle is very responsive, i have a concern there is no neutral lock but am assured if you go into reverse by accident when going forward nothing happens
for more information phone Bill higham marine Simon is very helpful and his costing re fitting were very fair he even worked late into the night when i picked up the boat finished , barrus the mercury suppliers also recommended him re fitting my new mercury engine
