In memorandum
Back in 1973 when Icelanders and British had one of their three conflicts (CODWAR) over when we moved out our fishing protection line from 50 to 200 miles HM frigates where sent to Icelandīs waters (HMS Scylla was one of them) to protect British trawlers fishing illegally within our new 200 miles fishing protection line from our "frigates" fisheries protection vessels (4-5 of ours could fit into HMS Scylla). This trip to Iceland didnīt made any difference and we Icelanders won this war as before.
May she rest in peace.

Thanks Ginger C, and Tue for taking time to post pictures,
the sinking does not look as dramatic as i expected, I imagined more of a titanic scene with one end up in the air.
(too many films !)

Excellant photographs-well done.
Unfortunately for us, the MCA "Parking Meter Attendants" boat came right across our bow as the detonations began.
They dont muck around do they those Navy lads? The force of the explosions was most impressive even from where we were.

Hey - the sea looks nice and flat.
Did you have a good run down from Torquay Brian - Cath would of loved it! - Just what I need to persuade her to go for a bigger boat.
Anyway - I can assure you that it looks more fun than my Bulgarian Telephone exchange

Yes, dead flat calm.
2 hours to get down there.
4 hours waiting.
30 seconds of excitement, and
2 hours back again.
8 hours for 30 seconds?
Still, marginally more fun than Bulgarian Telephone Exchanges, I wager?

I was in Bulgaria two weeks ago and their telephone system is not the best, but I am sure it will be modern in few years time. It is OK in Sofia but in the south it was dreadful.
