Home at last

Just a few pics - didn't take any on the actual delivery trip - just wanted to get home!!!

Trailer was huge - designed for the big Quinquari 11m boats. Towed like a dream and the Discovery was excellent - not at all gutless since I tweaked the pump slightly,

Rig was very stable to tow - same length as an articulated lorry but 8" wider - amazing!!!

What happens when someone doesn't bother with fenders. I also thought engines were supposed to be tilted OUT of the water when not in use?

Seriously bright blue. Looks pretty good with the white seats. Would have been nice with a grating to finish off the bilge - will have to do myself.

Well done, I bet your glad thats done, its a shame the bilge area wasn't finished and little things like not using fenders can have a serious effect, but hey ho its home now so you can enjoy it.

Quick 20min blast in home waters after putting the boat in for the first time - getting rather late.

Got to say it is a fantastic hull - such a soft ride and incredibly dry - got quite lumpy in a few sections - other boats coming in as we went out.

Notice fenders are quite a good idea.

hey cods

congrats in getting the boat at last. perhaps try those flat fenders and remember that rubbing up against things can do a lot of damage even to ribs so take care. you will probably notice your fuel usage will go up quite a lot now!!

done 40 hours in ours now and loving every minute of it

take care and have fun...

There must be a hell of a lot of outdrives with knackered seals then. Lifting the whole thing out of the water stops it from cruding up with weed and stuff, not much else.

True. However, I based my comment around an experience that occured to a friend, his dealer advised him that leaving it down on a salt water mooring was the cause. Not sure whether this is true or not, I guess I just believed the dealer!

Anything is gonna fair better out of salt water than in it, but i don't know why the dealer was going on about seals. The effect it has on the Aluminium of the casing itself would be more of a concern.

It might also stop anyone mooring too close to your stern..

Agreed, although something was clearly up with the seals on the outboard involved, because the gear lube resembled Semi Skimmed

Well, where are all the naysayers now eh Cod? The Cod bashing should certainly be over! I think you are going to need to get a bigger truck to match the boat however, makes your Discovery look puny! I imagine that first ride was glorious indeed, was it not? All the difficulties actually make the first run all the better, I know it well. Looks good, and looks like it runs good as well, her length will make for a very nice ride I'm sure. Congratulations, I am happy for you!
