I can see my boat on Google Earth
Google Earth has been updated recently (though the imagery is about a year old) and I can see my boat
51 deg 41' 29.67" S
57 deg 51' 31.31" W
I spy one RIB tied to the pontoon in exactly the spot I used to use.... must have been round about the time it exploded as it hasn't been back there since. The only other one it might have been is always tied at the other end.
Can also see one of our company launches "Speedwell" ploughing through the oggin at 51 34 57.71S, 57 51 28.69W and one of the big MOD-owned Ro-Ro vessels at 51 39 58.37S, 57 48 09.01W

I certainly wasn't at that time I can tell you...! The image would have been pre-explosion because it burst and I took it straight out of the water the following morning, and it hasn't been kept at that marina since, due to the leaks it wasn't fit to keep in the water (had to keep pumping it up every day) and I got so used to launching and recovery every time I found I just kept on doing that after it was fixed, and it is much better for the boat to be washed down after every trip anyway.
Quite a few £££ later all seems to be OK now
Anybody else see their boat on Google Earth?

Yikes - maybe it was not accidental as you can probably see looking around, parking space is not really at a premium, there is 1 other rib in the harbour right down the east end.
Yeah I reckon it was those damn Google earth measuring lasers that corroded my hypalon... good thinking time for a "Dear Sir, unless" letter

Hmmm... I tried to use the altitude adjustment tool to try and get a 3D image, but the image of your boat seemed really flat for some reason...

Me Too!!
Here's my old boat on Google Earth, only problem is there's not a lot of water to go with it !!
If you look carefully there's something over the right hand tube next to the console - now I didn't keep anything over the tubes so I can only assume that it's ME leaning over while the photo was being taken! Or maybe it's just a bit of dust on the lens!

They'ed have to be careful about that! as one particle would probably obliterate Wales from that altitude

... and just to be doubly boring, I see they've updated the images of Southampton so my new boat is also on Google Earth - not sure which of the four it is though!

Still being very sad ... can't remember who but someone from this forum owns/owned an orange rib and kept it at Driver's Wharf on the River Itchen - anyone recognise it?
Google Earth - what an excellent time wasting tool !!

I can see my boat, only a sailing dinghy but its still there.
Can also see the pic of the club rib too and ots out the garage. Can pinpoint the time of the picture to about 3.30 ish on a Sunday or maybe a bank holiday Monday.
