Went out today on brand new Valiant DR 490 with Mercury 55 hp SEA PRO outboard engine for trials as one of Iceland´s ICE-SAR rescue teams are looking for replacement of their Zodiac MKIII inflatable for their diving squad.
They will not fit console and wanted hand till operated ourboard engine.
With three people on board we managed 34,5 knoths on full throttle, we tried hard to cavicate the engine and to get it on over revs but engine and the boat performed all tests and exercise perfectly.
Will go out again tomorrow for a spin and for better photographing.

How cold is it out there at the moment? Pretty chilly here last night -8C and 5c today = lovely and sunny though - i LOVE this weather and no bloody rain!!!
Plenty of warm 1 degree and rain so was nice on 30 knoths my nose frose the ICE-SAR guys came better equipped with Gecko helmet and loads of smilies when I had totally frozen on my face not to mentioned the rain felt like hail
Force 3 in wind so that did help a bit.
Looking forward going out in the morning as the boat is still on water

I and María Erla (Arctic Challenger´s Captain) went out for a spin today a bit chilly raining water from last night was frozen inside the boat as we got out, but extremely fresh and breeze air.
