Jurassic Coast Sunday 6th September 2015
This is something we had wanted to do for a very long time only either poor weather conditions or good weather on the wrong day prevented it. Anyway Sunday 6th September was probably the very best day for ribbing in the South Coast that I can remember. Our aim was to get to Durdle Door via the Needles and Old Harry with a spot of seeing the powerboat racing on the way as the Cowes to Torquay was taking place.
Those who were out that day will agree that the seas were a dream and with little wind it was a delightful cruise. we got to Southampton Dry Stack by 8:15 with the rib already on the water. It was a very long and most enjoyable day with a return more or less 10 hours later.
this is a trip I would highly recommend to those who have not yet ventured out that way.
see whole route from AIS Marine Tracking

I got to agree with you, it wasn't predicted to be so nice but yes one of the best days ive seen this year.
I think I saw you come past in your parker rib, I was sat just off the Bournemouth Pier outflow marker buoy in a prime position to see the powerboat racers go past.
There was even an altercation I witnessed between the race marshalls and a fishing boat (leisure not commercial) who was refusing to get off the course line, he later did move but not after being a complete )tw-t about it.
Yes Jurrasic coast is wonderfull, Chapmans Pool is still my favourite, great cruise to it and its usually nice and quiet, good snorkling followed by lunch and a sleep on deck in the sun...perfect.

Hi Andre - sorry we missed you (Superfly). Let us know if you are in our neighborhood next time. You could come into Poole for a drink perhaps next time.

I hadn't realised it was Cowes-Torquay-Cowes, but having sailed up to Lymington on Saturday, had the pleasure of all the boats racing past as we returned to Poole via the Hurst entrance on Sunday morning at a stately 6kn. I saw Never Enough and an outboard Shearwater (didn't catch the name) amongst a whole hoard of RIB's - it was a very good day for it - but I was obviously incognito on the sailing yacht!

We had first thought about lunch in Poole but the time factor was against us so we enjoyed a picnic lunch instead.
thanks for the invite perhaps another weekend with Poole in mind only. Let's see what the weather will be like

Looks like a great day out. I was looking at the forecast and this was probably the first time I've missed not having my boat in the UK.
Oddly enough it was this time last year I did a very similar trip from Poole to Portland and back - in the same sort of weather.
(I may have to save up for another boat)
