Just a few snaps
Went to the New Forest for the weekend and managed to get a quick look round Lymington water front on Saturday (5th)
Couple of ribs I snapped I guess someone here will know them
1. Nice Ribcraft
2. I guess it will fit here
3. Cobra on the water
4. Cobra again
5. Avon just drying off
I guess I picked the wrong weekend to go

Hi
We were in the Cobra doing our Level 2 with Laurence from Aquasafe. We were doing lots of low speed manouvres, hence the fenders! Aquasafe were brilliant and got the pace of teaching just right. We finished off with a cold blast over to Yarmouth - Great Fun.
The Cobra was excellent - with a 150 Yamaha 2 stroke - a lot quicker accelleration than we've been use to.

It's an 11 metre Redbay Stormforce- the story about its launch is on the Redbay site and you'll also have seen photos of it in the "Ellen Macarthur return" thread. Actually, I think the owner may also subscribe to Ribnet!
A beautiful boat, to be sure.

The owner posts on Ribnet as SRA.
Discussion surrounding the boat is in this thread: http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread....&page=26&pp=10
I want one!

Storage Box
Bryster,
Saw the storage box at the back of the Avon and appears what I'm looking for. Is the lid strong enough for someone to 'perch' on if necessary? If it is what make/where d'you get it pleasE?
Mike

Storage Box
Hi Mike
My storage box came with the RIB when I bought it last year and Noddy who owned it before didnt buy it either............so, we dont know where it came from!
It has ACTION PACKER moulded on the front of it (see attached pic).
The lid is strong enough to support me, I stand on it sometimes.
The clamps kept popping open when choppy so I made up the strap myself which has fixed the problem nicely.
Good Luck in your quest!

Thanks for that. Took a quick look and found out it is a Rubbermaid (just love that company name!) product. Also found comments that show you aren't the only one with dodgy catches.
For all round excellence (robust, water/airtight, float etc), I undertand Pelican do the job, but hideously expensive.
I saw a tool chest with a fairly solid lid that JK showed on a thread a while ago - found one in Halfords for £14. It will do for now but it's not ideail.
Mike

A few recent snaps
Took some pix of the Oppie classes safety fleet in Portland Harbour over the May BH when I was J24 keelboat racing.
A wide variety of RIBs mostly with old school 2 strokers.
Other pix are of my SR4 PlayM8, J24 (25/Johnny Bravo) & works Avon.
