Hey Slimtim
I can't find any photos of my boat but I know that you took some as I have a nice framed one on the wall!
Any chance of posting a picture of my boat on here? It looks good on your website!
Thanks
Martin

I really like the console on brucehawsker's Solent. Does anyone know if Solent makes the consoles or if they get them from someone else. If elsewhere from who?

Since we've moved away from RIBs here is another of my boats: 16' 1960's former ski boat, now fitted out as day launch (underpowered with 35hp):

She's a biggun alright, however.........
.....is it the camera angle or does it look like the console starddles the whole width of the boat, leaving little if no room to pass either side to reach the bow ?

That's correct. The boat is very narrow. The external beam is 2.42m, the internal beam is 1.48m. But there is enough room to pass from one side to the other. I'll try to take some more pictures this weekend.

Interesting point about width.
But look at Redbays-no room at all, you have to step on a re-inforced section of the tube to make your way forward.
It may appear a minus point, but on the plus side, it increases your console width and maximises your weather protection.
You dont often go to the front of the boat when seriously underway though, do you?

Yea - no arguments........
.....from me on that point (forward whilst under way). It was just an observation. Being a yachty as well, I'm well used to moving around topsides without gunwales or freeboard for protection/comfort.

I’m not convinced, if you stuff big time where does the water go I’m all for centre consoles and low transoms

In Scandinavia we prefer the wide consoles, it can be pretty cold and when you are driving with a console thats not wide enough the drivers right leg (if you drive on the right side) is getting damm cold and vice verse for the navigator.
A wide console protects much better and you feel more pleasant
