Taken yesterday in Millport Bay - a beautiful day for Ribbing (see, it does stop raining in Scotland occasionally!)

She goes just fine.
I've not seen a 550 with any more than a 115 on the back. Originally Galaxsea had a 115 optimax on the back. I had this changed for a 4-stroke before I bought her. Its a good solid engine and quite economical.

In Oz the 550 is rated to 140HP, but only rated to carry 10 people. I think elsewhere due to different regulations it's often rated to only 115 hp but to carry 11 people. Go figure.

Most likely it is due to the extra weight they allow for the engine during the test. The 135 is a heavy motor really, as it's the same block as the evinrude 175 motor and comes in at the same weight

Matthew

I would like to introduce our refited Osprey XR24 with a new engine on her back.
We have made the console by ourselves and it took a absurd amount of time but it fits like a glove on this boat.
It's the only XR24 of what I know that hasnt got the bobslee-console.
Replaced the bilgepumps, steering, instruments, seats, alu box for the seats, all hatches etc.
I will make a nice window next month and wil fit some new SS handrails around the window.
It took one month of spare-time to repair all the grp work and thats like new now.
We have placed the engine by ourselves and she running now for the second week. The boat goes like hell.
I will probable also make an new Aframe from alu because of the weight and because I don't like this model. I would like to make something different from the rest.

Dan.

Mental note to self - suggest new fora page to JK at top of list;
"STOP Press! Breaking news"
Some events truly are worth waiting for and the arrival of MV Codprawn will be hailed with adulation around around the globe.

Codders you come across as this angry, intolerant and often ranting sort of a person and yet you have had the patience of job when it comes to your rib I’m sorry it just doesn’t stack why aren’t you banging the table or exposing the manufacture for their failing why are you meekly accepting these apparently ludicrous delays

By my reckoning you have 21 days before your rib arrives, If it doesn’t arrive will you promise to confess all or change your name to something more appropriate such as Codbollox or fullofcrapprawn I’m counting Des

I believe the ribs a Prosport 8.8m with a Suzy 225efi 2 stroke from what he has said over a variety of posts. Every time he posts in this thread i expect to see pictures of it!
