This is mine, my first inflatable its been great this year. Proper RIB next year (hopefully). Use the launching trolley to take it down to the river avon, about five minutes away. Lovely yamaha malta for the river, 9.9hp for larger waters.
P.S. its sat on the hardboats trailer in the picture, its not a weird 4 wheeled trailer. & I'm the tow vehicle.

Nice setup. On our RIB forum site here in Holland there is a discussion on the flaps you use. Are they ok?

I'm quite pleased with them.
The boat will plane at lower speed and lower revs, (1 up about half throttle with the 3hp!) The boat remains level, and will plane at a lower speed. (I can plane and just about keep within the speed limit on the river 6mph , )
They didn't improve top end speed, I get 10mph with the 3hp. I haven't tried the 9.9 without the lifters. But can get 25mph, perhaps a bit more with less weight in the boat)
They'll perform diffently on other boats, but have increased planing weight and reduce fuel consumption.

too big for the road
i use this rig for pulling out for engine service and bottom clean, the trailer is road legal but the boat too heavy and too wide. I had the trailer made by a local company in Carnforth lancashire. the three axles are rated at 1.8 tons apiece, it tows ok on the road with 8.5 mt rib. jerry

Here's a picture of a 30' RIB I just finished reconditioning, beginning a 2,000 mile road trip from Iowa to San Diego to meet a ship which will take it to Maui, Hawaii. It will be used as a dive and adventure tour boat. The tow vehicle is an ex-military 10x10. The boat is an ex-military 30', 600hp, twin jet drive Novamarine (one of only 18 ever made) that received new tubes, console, Stidd seats, new electronics, and a hinged radar arch that can be lowered for travel. More work will be added in Hawaii.

What i find strange is that you can actually register a tank as a car and use it on British roads - all 68 tons of it!!!

Hi Codprawn - here are a few pictures of the RIB...as you can see there is still more to be done, including dive platform, more wiring, windshield, extra seating, installation of the console hatch, lights and antennas, etc. The buyers were eager to take possession and want to finish the work in Hawaii where the weather is more friendly this time of year.
The boat was originally designed to be dropped from an aircraft so is extremely heavy duty in all respects. The electronics are based around the Garmin 3210 bundle, with Interphase forward/side scanning sonar and the SeaMarshall system which allows divers in the water to activate a locating device on the boat. I've wanted to install Stidd seats in a RIB for a long time and this boat was perfect for the application - replacing multiple bolsters. A great project and lots of fun to work on.......
