Loch Goil Locals

I had a restless night .. so got up at 5 in the morning .. put my boating gear in the car ..and went to Loch Goil.

It turned out to be one of my best impulsive days boating yet.

A freezing fog cleared as I launched the boat ..

I enjoyed the sighting of a fog bow . .reflected on flat calm waters

And watching some of the local wildlife...

Mid week winter boating is a sure way to enjoy the peace and quiet of having the sea to yourself.

My worries disappeared with the tide and I will sleep well tonight.

Hope you enjoy watching my day unfold in the video.

Best Regards
The Gurnard.

Had Loch Lomond virtually to ourselves on Sunday but it's not the same as a bit of brine.

Hi guys..thanks for dropping in and hope you enjoyed the video

Yup Xk59D..I have a soft spot for Loch Goil too.. its possibly the nearest sea water to my home town so go there and also Loch Fyne quite a lot. The East coast is closer ..but cant touch the west for scenery.IMO

Hi jambo.. it will soon be time for Loch Sween again.. I want to video the Ospreys arriving now I have a decent long reach lens. Watch out for that trip in the future.

Hi Neil ..soon be time for your time back in Scotland.. hoping we can meet up again for a Guinness or three now my liver is watertight again.

Hey..I almost stopped at Loch Lomond instead of going to the Goil Last Tango. Im glad I went the extra mile though as the mist was very atmospheric. Loch Lomond was beautifully calm but clear.

Here is the video of the last part of my day out on Loch Goil.

Hopefully there will be more trips coming soon.

Thanks for looking and Best regards
The gurnard

Hi Maximus..good to see you are around too.

I always meant to say I got your card ..but it slipped my mind. Hope we can all meet up again at some point this year. Pass my regards to the rest of the guys n galls too.

I feel that this year is going to be a great year for seeing the more remote parts of the West of Scotland .. so Im getting some early practise in .. just in case another “Beast from the East” snows my boat in again. Anything can happen up here at this time of year ?

Two weeks ago .. I needed snow shoes to walk the street to get my groceries ..

Fantastic footage again Donny. Wonderful place, great time to be there, and best way to see it. Also, good to hear your innards functional. ☺

Hi Stevie ..good to see you around too and Im looking forward to the SIB outing and meeting you again.

Hi FoxZulu .. thanks for the Kind words and Im glad you enjoyed the videos.

Hi again Last Tango and Xk59D .. if Im honest..I have never been in a bad loch or stretch of water yet.. east or west

Wild Camping in Barrisdale Bay Loch Hourn .. takes some beating

But so does a trip round the “four Inches “ in the Forth visiting the WW2 ruins and the abbey

I have never put a boat in the water over the border yet though ..perhaps some day I will
