Nice piccies Andre and lovely to see you and Wiesia again (& Ken, Kev, Alan, Brian Whiteshoes & clan, Paul Timboli, Andy, Jason, JK & Will, JF, TD, DM, Matt, Chaos, Ice Cream Truck & of course Superradioman Jon Brooks!).

And don't forget your promise Andre! We're counting on you to organise that weekend cruise to Littlehampton and on to Brighton! (Watch out JK!) I shall check the Cruising section regularly from now onwards.

Great to see Alan Priddy has even more support for his latest adventure.
Perhaps we could swap photos and stories tomorrow night at the Solent Meet for posterity.

To give Phil some credit I must say that he did refuse at first but at the Guinness bar that is all you can have so eventually managed to talk him into a 1/2 pint . When it came to have the photo taken he did comment that some are going to be suprised seeing him with a Guinness
anyway he did finish it nothing wasted.
Hopefully will find time and will travel to the Dublin Boat show . I had my first Guinness in Dublin many years ago and got converted from bitter , great memories

Just got back from the boat show after an eventful flight home last night (60 mph crosswinds, 2 landing attempts and an eventual diversion from Cork to Shannon). Plenty of women screaming and kids getting the gawk was a bit of craic anyway

Overall I thought the show was very similar to last yrs show with pretty much the same displays as before.

Here are some of my photos from the show:

XS 550/ Merc 4 Stroke
XS 600/ Opti 115
Very Nice A-frame on new Cobra 8.6!!
Tidy Tornado transom arrangement
Tornado Console on Rib International's new boat (not sure about colour though!!)

I noticed the other day when perusing through the tornado gumpf that they had started to do the tidy back end bit as opposed to the standard well. Seems like a good idea.......more storage is always a good idea!

Also been dreaming in the Delta website as well!! (hee hee) the Misses will have a fit if she see's what I've got planned in the next few years....hmmm shhh!

More:

Avon picnic table in the bow?? imagine eating your sambos at 50kts
Very beamy explorer, carpet deck to be replaced by teak as was not ready for the boatshow.
Ribquest A-frame. Interesting lighting pods. I'd be very interested to know how long that single A-frame will last with all that gear/weight??
Rib-X stand was quiet
Nice Valiant double jockey. Like the split level cushion

Sorry Steve but I don't! Not nearly enough padding there for my bum, on either level, (and as many know, I already have a hefty amount of padding of my own! ).

What are the stainless 'wings' on the Explorer? Are they handrails of removable steps for visitor use or something else?

Nice piccies BTW!

That is true about the padding, I just like the split level idea. Would be good with more padding, nice to be able to see over the helmsman in an in-line layout.

That explorer is a dive RIB and as far as I know the handrails are there to hold on to for divers when they they are entering the water. They also hold up the the bimini top, which you can't see in the picture.

Thanks for the info on the 'wings'.

I understand what you mean about being able to see over the helmsman and, I guess if the helmsman & passenger were similar heights it would work but if JK was helming and I was the passenger I wouldn't have a hope in hell! Also, many people stand up when helming which would negate the benefit of the raised seat. An interesting idea, nonetheless, and always nice to see manufacturers innovating!

Yep the combination of blue & cream with a hint of green didn't really do it for me! I would have liked to find out how they are finding the Verados on the tornado hulls, but Laurence was busy making a sale.
