In the Suzuki "Virtual Harbour" (ie swimming pool) it's mostly RIBs.

A Redbay 650 with a conventional layout, and a Redbay 750 featuring their unique wrap round "nearly a cabin" console.

Smart looking new Ribquest, quite a contrast to the boats built by the previous Ribquest company!

Familiar faces on the miraculously revived Cobra RIBs stand.

Shiny consoles and sharp suits on the RibX eXige stand.

Smart little jet tenders from Williams as usual, and new kid on the block Arimar. Their 2.8 jet RIB has 146hp and reportedly does over 50mph if you're brave enough . . .

The Goldfish "race replica" boat; Barnet Marine's stand looking exactly the same as it has done for more than a decade (possibly nearer two); and a boat that looks like it ought to be a RIB but isn't - the Paragon 25 doesn't have tubes, but does have a foam filled collar.

Wow. Love that Sr4-where on earth did they find a 1973 Blue Band in that condition?!

<edit> It's really sad that I can tell the age of that from the colour scheme isn't it...

It's had two owners and is still in regular use around Southampton apparently!

Yes. And it's even sadder that you feel the need to demonstrate that knowledge!

Would you like some weak lemon drink sir?
(It's only because I rebuilt an identical one a few years back)

Something tells me it's not in that regular use-something to do with the lack of patches. It is in incredible condition though.

Went to the boat show yesterday and met up with Dave Manning, had a walk around and met lots of people within the industry. I didnt get the feel of the buzz of previous shows. Most of the talk was about who is going bust next, who is laying people off, not spending on stand space and all the other economy problems
But on a better note saw some ribs, got some new ideas for my new rib, got to see my new etec 300 again and batter the head of the Garmin man with tecy questions.

Some cracking photos here.
I have read the searider post by nos , and wonder if he would go the same route again.
The reason I ask, is I have found a shabby 4mtr searider, but with original spec, and seeing these photos, I am tempted to restore it, rather than fit a jockey seat.
Any thoughts?

Isnt that boat an example of a classic bit of boat & RIB/inflatabe history & needs to be next to the canoe in Plymouth ( ?)

Its fantastic - shows how tough they are if its still being used & is original - looks it ( I bet the engine has been rebuilt though! )

I never had a Searider with side by side seating-my 4m was originally like that but the seats were missing when I bought it.
I did have a 13' speedboat that had identical seating though. It was horribly cramped and difficult to get in and out of.

I think you're right-though I doubt the owner feels that way
You'd be surprised how tough those engines are. I sold this one 3 years ago -it was 40 years old. It had never been apart bar changing impellers. It's now in use on the boat in the pics.

Nos, thats a very good security system you have on your back gate.

If the intruder can open the gate with the old engine leaning against it the engine falls over making a loud clatter as it crashes through the old bike bits and wakes you and Liz up.

All done with true Wallice and Grommit technology.

Grommit was a better deterrent There's something about having a Dobie cross running at the gate barking that puts thieves off </offtopic>
