Look what parked at our "Chippie"

Hey,RichL and Jewels,
look what they parked next to our :chippie" Cheek of it
Actually Fleet week in the Bay and saw this strange looking Navy Seal boat moored alongside the "Chippie."
On a more careful look though , found a nice surprise inside
Seems those Seals hide all their best toys
cheers Dal

USV? I take this to mean an unmanned surface vehicle; i.e. LimeyDal's remote control RIB from a few months ago?

jky

Jeez; maybe I should look at who's posted what...

Gets sort of confusing with "naval speak" for us civilians
The first page on that wolf PAc website got me going
"Forces operating in a non-contiguous battlespace need a coherant strategy to "command & control" large numbers of dispersed assets"
Does that mean getting all your ducks lined up

Have to work on getting my UAV- USV-UUV's sorted

cheers Dal

Easy:

"Forces" = guys
"operating" = fighting
"non-contiguous battle space" = not necessarily shoulder-to-shoulder
"coherent strategy" = good plan
"Command and Control" = intelligently move
"dispersed assets" = stuff scattered all over the place.

jky

Unrelated note: I was looking for you on Sun, Sept 17; didn't see your boat, but I did see the USS Shoup (Arleigh Burke class destroyer) coming back into SD. I was on the Searcher, returning from a shark diving trip.
