Low voltage led lights
I installed these:
Red LED Recess Strip Lamp - Courtesy Lamps, Strip - Hella Marine
Not to worry I won't be using them underway, but damn if they don't look good. I added 5 strips total. There are a pair on the sides of the engine cover/seat and a pair on either side of the transom storage box and one facing forward at the base of the transom box illuminating the helm station floor..
Check out my profile for more pics...

I think I paid about $150usd per strip. I can't recall specifically as I am sure I told my wife I found them in a dumpster.

Looking good! That reminds me that I need to go see them. (I still might use smaller ones, ~$20-30/each, so that can use more of them to include the front of the console to light up the bow area and around the rear storage box to light up the pathway coming up from the stern after a night dive).

Wouldn't be the first time...
Just checked out the album...I like it. I just would add some light facing forward! I need some touchup gel/paint...thinking about adding the lights afterwards.

I all ready have those, just not installed. They are going up on the arch (when i find one and a transom cap) and will illuminate the boat from above and behind. They are monster shock mounted military led lights that will make a 7meter look like the landing deck of a Nimitz class. You may look at the picture on the box. Half price.

In California, we can wear boardshorts and flip flops year round, no underwear needed.

Learned that one a long time ago. Skiing is only 2 hours from San Diego (and 5,000 of elevation)! ;-)

I did a similar thing to my boat, 'cept I got the LEDs from the 'net. About US$6/foot (30 LEDs). Another US$1.50 a foot for the waterproof sleeve. Cut the strip into 3 LED segments and put them around the boat, in compartments, engine bay, etc. Stuck them in place with 3M 4200. Worked out very nice.

The fishing guys love those cheap LED ropes for under-gunnel lighting but with a rib, that's not really possible. Do you have some pictures of your boat?

If you want something a little less expensive, but requiring a bit more fiddling to look good, try Oznium.com (US)
I've got their LED floodlights for deck lighting and as trailer back-up lights, and red and white strip lights on a PVC pole for night dive marker light (in lieu of a dive flag. Entire light ass'y coated in surfboard resin to waterproof.)
