Meeting in the Bahamas

I have just got back from a cruise in the Caribbean having missed all the UK cold weather
The cruise ship I was on visited Nassau and this gave me an opportunity to meet up with Islandflyer. (the cruise ship is one behind me in the photo). Sadly there was no possibility for a spin on the rib as the two Parker ribs were out working but Lee invited me for a nice lunch consisting of local cuisine
Nice place the Bahamas but you need to be there for at least a few days and these cruise ships don't stay long enough.

You lightweight Andre, running off to the Caribbean to avoid a little snow. We planned to go out on Grey Pearl last week but unfortunately there were no icebreakers to be had for hire :-)

Sorry but we just sneaked out of the country for a bit of sun without telling anyone and it was worth it[emoji106]

How about this weekend as I need to go down and check on Grey Mist

Spent alot of time in Nassau and many of the islands in the Bahamas back in the 80's and 90's, great place for scuba diving. Are they still selling conch shells on the pier ?

Yes I did see a guy selling shells . I had a nice chat with a chap called Al who runs an Air boat to carry tourists - nice piece of kit but no tube[emoji3]. I took a ride on one of these in the Everglades in Florida where I did see a few alligators .

Forgot I hadn't logged in here in a while! Good to see Andre again, two Parker's running the Exumas now.

Bit of bad luck for his airboat buddies...haven't seen them around since.

Very much bad luck but to be honest not the best craft for ocean waves. Swamps yes
