MG in Iceland

We released the MG through customs and how nice to drive right handed vehicle in left traffic.......... and surely my fellow Icelanders......... turns head and unfortunately one to much as he forgot to brake........ and smashed into the car front of him.........

This is 1987 model year Trabby with original two stroke engine of 25,7 horsepower, the car is in perfect condition and Jón Baldur painted him some two years ago in flames.

It looks nice. Thought it would have a bigger motor. Bet it still stinks though.

Just like boating with two stroke outboards the "stinky" is part of the deal, and for me running my boats on four stroke outboards it is good to have short ride on Trabby to remind on good old two stroke outboards..........

Bogib,

Maybe you can dispel a myth. Is the Trabant really made of compressed cardboard.
That was the rumour when I lived in Berlin. I once went to a traffic accident where one had run in to the back of another. The whole of the back of the one that was rear ended had fallen off from the rear window back. A sad sight as I knew the owner would have to wait years to get a new one.

It is plastic, was also used in radios "pcb boards" some thirty years ago

This one came originally from Berlin and was sourced by my sister in law who still lives there (now in the former eastern part).
