Monday 28 Oct day out Southampton Water

For late October weather was superb and very mild, second time out with new boat, launched at Warsash and beached at Netley for a quick picnic.

moored at Hamble Village

we would normally stop here for an ice cream or do some crab fishing off the quay, skipped the ice cream today and went for coffee instead

59' F not bad for late October, roll on global warming

Matiboy

aka Matthew, 7 years old and this is what he gets up to in October half term

pictures taken with the aid of self timer on camera ( or was it dad )

when we launched early Monday morning at Warsash the sea was really calm hardly a breath of wind, so we thought we would pop over to cowes for the day, quick phone call to the coastguard revealed wind increasing to force 5 with moderate seas later on....

think we'll stick to Southampton water then !!!

later spent the afternoon up the Hamble, visited the barge which is an absolute Alladins cave of boating junk and Matthew practiced his manouvering and docking

Hmmm I think he still needs some more practice

Nice boat, but they just can't compete with those wellies. I miss those days when I could get away with wearing stuff like that. Ah well, when I get my SIB I might just invest in a pair!

Looks like you had some nice weather for it too. But as for the "roll on global warming" thing, sure, nicer temperatures, but the price our fine nation will end up paying is increased rainfall, or rather more stormy weather in general (finally doing geography A2 pays off, I get to apply the knowledge!) which frankly I'm not keen on. Those bloody storms from last weekend closed the mountain bike trail I did a 6 hour round trip to get to

But back to the subject, nice looking boat, and hope you have some great times with it.

Matt
