However you could get the boat CE marked when it gets to the UK. It will cost you pounds 1,200-1,500 is a DIY job and you get the certificate from Holland (I think - Cookee correct me if I'm wrong).

Not that much money to spend considering how much you save if you buy it from the US

I am not aware of who is doing this from Holland - maybe you could share this with everybody - I am sure MeMe's friend would like to know?

Sorry my mistake the compnay is based in Belgium, is called IMCI and they give BV (Bureau Veritas CE Certificates - Cookee I need a comission for this info you need to spend some money to do boating and be a builder ) the compnay's web page is at IMCI

IMPORTANT: If a boat is built before 01/01/1999 it DOES NOT NEED to have a CE certificate. The CE certification applies only for boats built after 01/01/1999. (dates are approx may be it was June 1999 can't remember, but year is 100% correct)

As usual you are not even bothering to read what I have posted Manos - I am using CE Proof thank you very much - this information was for MeMe to give to his friend so that he could either get his boat marked if necessary. You have jumped in with completely irrelavant stuff and muddied the waters with useless information about other countries and old boats - in case you can't be bothered to look it up here is what MeMe posted:

just saved £12,000 by importing a SeaRay 2000 (2004 spec') directly from the States

Just so there is no confusion here it was built after june '98 or '99 and it is coming from the US to the UK - I think it needs a CE certificate to make it legal, and if anyone thinks otherwise I would love to hear why.
