Thanks for that info, seems we are both getting almost the same results from the engine. Will be interested with your SS prop results. I bought this engine and used it to re-power my Tornado 6.5 which used to have twin 75 2 stroke outboards. It's amazing, the performance in terms of top speed and acceleration is almost identical to the old OBMs despite the 65 kg weight increase. I opted for an aluminium prop as the vessel is kept afloat and I was keen to reduce the electrolysis issues.

As a matter of interest how is your steering? Mine is quite hard to straighten up after a medium turn at 30 knots plus. I find I really have to wait for the power steering to force the leg back towards midships?

steering is ok on mine, not stiff at all......

I'm hoping to crack the 40 knot barrier with the correct stainless prop....fingers crossed on that one

mine is kept afloat also.....wil look at how quick the anodes get eaten now and especially when the SS prop arrives

Give your power steering reservoir a check. Low oil level will make the steering slow to respond and sometimes it will feel bumpy when turned. Just a thought.

Stainless prop

Hi Colin

Have you fitted the stainless steel prop yet, would be really interested to hear how it goes with the D3-160?

Will
