New Baby
What a beauty .... You must be over the moon Graeme. I remember the excitement when we took delivery of our last RIB... the smell of the new glass and resin, shiny new tubes, great toys all over the console. I see you have 2 Garmins mounted, one would be the GPS, what is the other? Love the colour too, same as my last one I really hope you have a great time with her, and many safe passages. Its also time to come across this way.... BIBOA and I are planning a brilliant cruise taking in all the Channel Islands as well as some ports in France later this year. Everyone should try and make it.
This is what my console looked like:

RIB being built
This is a picture of my Trident (Hysucat) taking shape in South Africa last year. Note the stringers, made of highly compressed balsa = strength and light-weight. Two fuel tanks down the centre.

Thanks all for your comments.
Stealth - one of the Garmins (the larger one) is a 182 Chart Plotter. The other is a 160 Blue Fish Finder.
I like the look of your console - plenty of BIG toys there!
Strange to think of a RIB made of Balsa!
I would love to visit the Islands with her - Ill watch the BIBOA site for news on that trip.
Jools - that really was the weather on the Norfok Broads today - 28 Feb. You know what they say - the sun shines on the righteous

Hi Graeme
Fantastic.
I'm looking forward to seeing it (and you) in the flesh at the SoC sendoff.
Regards
Keith (Green) Hart

Graham,
Your new toy certainly looks "les testie du chien!"
Is your VHF aerial not on the A frame as well as the GPS oor has it been cunningly concealed elsewhere?
For a good description of the use of power trim try either Peter Whites new book, Powerboating or The Outboard Motor Manual by Keith Henderson.
It might be a good idea to get an overall camper cover to keep the rays of the tubes (unless you are lucky enough to have a nice big garage to keep her in!)

Thaks for the advice.
I have attached a photo that hopefully shows the VHF aerial position - which is on a plate on the starboard side of the frame.

You must have a grin the size of Norfolk
Nice boat. Nothing like collecting your shiny new 'un. Look forward to seeing her in the flesh at Cardiff.
Just one thing...................
Did you know there's a 5mph speed limit on the Norfolk Broads?!
Someone was speeding weren't they>
Your boat is entirely capable of Channel Islands & cross channel cruises. I've been in a F6 coming back from the Scillies in one and it handled it all very well.
Cheers,
Alan W

Yes, would be intrested in a trip on the Thames. Where abouts would you launch from, travel to etc - and are there any speed restrictions?
Also, do I need a river license - and how much would it be / how do I get one?
Alan
There is a small secton of straight water where - for testing purposes only - you are allowed to exceed the speed limit
Of course we didn't exceed this by taking some bends at rather exhilarating speeds!

Beautifull!
Glad I got my crew place booked already.
Looking forward to seeing it for real in Cardiff - and being allowed to touch it!
