My 'Unknown' Rib.
Does anyone know what type of Rib this is?
Someone (with a very nice boat) mentioned it may be a Metzler..!.
Can any other Rib experts confirm this please?

Oh,
Forgot to mention,
According to Danial (Top Banana) & Richard (Blue Ice), my tubes are detachable! Just let all the air out & slid off!

So it looks like I'm the only owner of a Meztler!
Not so sure thats a good thing!!
The engine is sufficent to get it on the plane, that I can tell you!
If I can get the REV counter working I'll go for a blast this weekend & pass on the figures..

You might find more info on Schlauchboot-online (the German RIB forum) - ask Manos about that one. I don't speak any German so that's as much as I can help.
BTW I'm sure it's spelt Metz eler

The tubes are definetly from Metzeler. Since you say that they detachable too, then I can assume that someone made the hull (if not the same firm) and attached the tubes on it.

Hi,
one of the rare opportunities when I can be of help: This boat is a "Metzler Markant RH" where "RH" stands for rigid hull. These are mighty fine boats and are rated up to 40hp. I`ve had one last year and sold it at the end of the season- still mourning about that..... The best thing about this one is that the tubes are easily taken off the hull and even better is that I know somebody over here in Germany who has at least about 10 pairs of originally packed Metzler tubes for it!!!! The boat would definetly be a good project to fix up completly! I`ve attached two pictures so you get an idea of how it should look then and how it performs with only a 25hp Yammi 2- stroke!
greetings,
Wolfgang

Me again-
could also be that yours is an "Elephant RH" which was just a pronlongued version of my boat. The "Markant" has a loa of 3,67meters, the "Elephant" is told to be about 4,50m.
I have personally never seen an "Elephant RH" and there were very few made and sold because these things were expensive as hell back in their days.... wish I could get my "Markant" back, what a great ride in choppy waters because the tubes won`t beat up the boat since they`re almost completly covered by the rigid hull! What a concept- the tubes are really cradled!! Don`t get me wrong: I`m not so excited because it`s a german- made boat but because it`s a genius piece of design! The tubes are attached to the hull by an upper and one lower "rail" where some flaps on the tubes slide in- takes you about 5 minutes to take them off completly. They`re secured at the stern be a ss-bolt and at the bow by bolting on this unique rubber-plate atop of them. The hull originally has trim-flaps at the transom and the boat was designed to be driven with a rack+ pinion steering system which was also sold with the boat. The two rubber- strips on each tube at the bow are for bolting on the most ugly windshield that has ever been set on an inflatable- looks like an umbrella for a lamp cut in half and was completly out of acrylic glas! This was the point when the designer went nuts and did too good- the windshields were almost never sold and I have only ever seen one by myself!
Ok, that`s enough for the moment- in case you want more details just ask!
Wolfgang

By the way: It did already make 25 knots flat out with a single person and this old, worn out 25hp on the pix- if suzuki 416 really wants to give it a try with a 70VRO on it, he should put some solid diapers on and, according to his wishes, WILL BECOME AN ADVENTURER AS SOON AS HE`S PUT THE HAMMER DOWN!!!! Really beats the sh.. out of sushi I guess......
have fun, Dude!

It's a Metzler Markant RH
I just bought one, do see.

It has been a great boat although a bit small. 20 horse power does good job with it, mine is 12 feet in length.
