National SIB Meeting-Jersey
As many of you know, the National Sib Meeting was held last weekend in Jersey, with SIB's coming from all over the UK.
Le tout monde was there.
Well, actually, not quite true. There did seem to be one famous SIBster not there. But more of that later. Meanwhile here are a selection of snaps to give you a flavour of the full range of attendees and activities.
There were manual SIB's

So, with all this going on, where was Britain's most famous SIBster?
Could it be that he had an important and unbreakable previous engagement?
or, .........dare I say it... perhaps he wasn't even INVITED....???
I think we should be told.
Perhaps his mate (or is it ex-mate?) Bill, can shed some light on this matter?
You know I even examined the queue that formed at the SIB taxi rank (see below) for signs of our Keith. Where was he?

Excellent thread Brian, I think we would all love to know where Britain's most famous ever SIBster was? Such an important SIB conference and the doyen of all doyen's was simply not to be found anywhere

Indeed, it is strange isn't it?
Where was the GLS (Greatest Living SIBster)?
You know, I was going to suggest that we make The SIB National Conference, a permanent feature for Jersey. But what is the point if HE isn't going to be there?

Stepping in on Keith (Greatest Living Sibster)'s behalf...
presumably for the next meeting in the Channel Islands you'll be offering Keith space on Cyanide to take his SIB over as deck cargo ?

Well no, actually.
You see by next year Keith outstanding prowess and mature sea-going experience will mean he will be able to go to the Jersey meeting, in Quicksilver, all the way from his weekend pad in Scotland.
It is true however, that as it is nearly 1000 miles each way, he will have to make about 100 refueling and overnight stops. This means we will have to give at least 4 months notice of the date of the next weeting. In fact, if he started out on New Years Day.........

WHAT!!!!!
I knew *!*@$!**** all about this!
I told you I had no friends, they never invited me. As it happens last weekend I was working on a REAL murder mystery, anyway I digress.
Right next year I'm going to gatecrash. Who organises this? What is their address? Do they wear bullet proof vests?
Pause............
Calm down.............
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Why don't we have a SIB meeting here? Some of you with HUGE ribs (Brian - he even has a swimming pool on Cyanide) have sibs as well. There are even one or two with sibs or small ribs. I tried to organise something in Scotland but it was obviously too far for everyone (bloomin' southern whoopsies) (hey now back me up here you tough Northern Ribers).
So when, where? I'll even bring Quicksilver down for it. Anglesey? Norfolk? The south coast even? I'll even get Bill on his Avon along (engine or not).
OR
How about a sib (and small rib) cruise from John o' Groats to Orkney.
Well, what do you think? I'm game.
Keith (perhaps they didn't invite me because they thought I would eat all their food) Hart

Keith,
Gatecrashing was certainly on at the weekend - I cased the joint and crashed right in!
Brian's having a problem with his swimming pool on Cyanide (he said the boat's in for nav system repairs, but I reckon that problems with the on board heated swimming pool is the real reason...)
If you're up for a south coast SIB meeting I'd definitely be up for it - lots of places to choose from, how about Poole Harbour for starters? Or the Thames? I gotta get PepperII out of the garage this year, and there's the whole of August ahead!
