New Avon Adventure 580 Sea Trial
We fitted out the new Avon Adventure 580 for it's press release at the London Boat Show, so we took it out to see how she goes.

Hi,
yes, 150hp is the maximum, same as the 620.

I don't know to be honest! I noted 38mph at one point, nowhere near WOT though, I wasn't driving at the time. It was very rough out of the river and into the Solent, there was a huge swell so didn't get it flat out.
I wouldn't expect a new 620 for a while. They have just launched the 580 and the new 4 stroke Jet RIB range.

Doesn't look too bad for a bit of WOT.

It did handle well, it's a bit wider, a bit heavier and has a larger tube diameter than the 620, so it is a different ride. It didn't slam and performed some hard turns well at high speed.
The new hull and larger tubes provided a very dry ride, even in some big swell further out, I think more so than the 620.
Would like to get it out on a flatter day to see how she performs at higher speeds on flat water, but while we were out it seemes very stable - no chine walking or leaning over to one side.
We have sold a few since the boat show and have had a lot of interest in it.
The 620 is a very fun boat, and a huge seller for us, so it will be interesting to see how the 580 sells in comparison. The extra internal width in the 580 is very noticable, there is much more access either side of the console which I think will help sell it.
The London Boat Show RIB complete with:
Outhill CC14FS Console
2x Outhill Jockeys
1x Outhill bench
120 Litre integral stainless steel fuel tank
Hydraulic steering
Yamaha F150
Flush mounted controls
Battery & Installation etc.
Digital dials
Heavy duty stainless wakeboard A frame
Bow locker cushion
Nav lights, compass, fire extinguisher, bow fairlead,
ICOM 421 DSC VHF
Garmin GPS/Sounder 298C (colour)
Outboard lock, passenger hand rail, auto bilge pump, wheel clamp, hitch lock
Indespension Roller Coaster 7 Trailer
Would cost: £25,750.00,
So around £1500 cheaper than a similar kitted 620. We have a demo weekend, March 9th, 10th, 11th if anyone would like to book a demo in any of the RIBs we have on offer, including the 580.

whenever I see AVON on a rib my first thought is Quality then old fashioned, but I noticed the hull in the boat show picture, the chine at the rear ,is that a new design ?
I thought with this one, The Quality seems (from a photo anyway )to be a good as ever, and It looked great.

Yes, the quality really is superb on this RIB.
The hull is a completely new design, it has two large chines at the stern.

Avon 580
Hi I have just taken delivery of a new 580 fitted with a 135 Honda engine but notice that she has her Bow up quite a lot and tends to ride that way when hitting sizable waves, even when trimmed down. Can any one tell me if this is normal otherwise its a good combination engine and boat, top speed around 49

The Honda's are a very good engine, but a tad heavy and the adventure have always been a bit nose happy (i've had 5 or 6). What layout have you gone for (any pics) a good length of anchor chain in the bow should sort it out.
If you need any advice from another Avon dealer with experience of Honda's call David Eastwood at Glassllyn in Portmadog 01766513545.

For sale at the moment
you seem to have a 580 at circa 22K on sale at the moment.
Can I ask a few questions
a) what is the seating arrangement
b) does the front of the console have a storage compartment
c) what electrics (GPS etc) are fitted
d) Could I use the a frame for wakeboarding
Then two more
a) could lit be supplied with 150 evinrude (since I hear dead reliable)
b) could it be supplied with doubel axle trailer (belt and braces man)
do you do trade in's
