New Ribtec @ the Boatshow
Popped in to see the boat show today. Mainly the same as other years, a little quiet and the stands we spoke to said its been slow ... however Sunseeker have sold at least 20 boats and one person said 30!!
We did see this .... its on the same hull (although shortened) as Alan P's cross Atlantic boat, and I think Alan has been in this boat from what the guy said. Not sure I like it, however the hull has a proven track record in some tuff conditions.
It was powered by 2 x 275 Verados

Looks very fancy but where are the jockeys?
Great to have a loo on board but it would have been nice if they'd put a partition or something next to it so you don't sit there looking at it!
The cabin looks quite roomy though. Is an adult able to stand up in there? (Not a 10 foot tall thing like JK necessarily though!)

I was there this Sat, it's now down to £299.99! I can see where they're trying to go with this thing, but that cabin is a joke for £100K. I could strap the kids wendy house to mine, bung in a bucket and be no less comfortable. As for grand tourer?!. By a £50K Rib and spend the other £50k staying in some bloody nice hotels. How's that for a bit of grand touring?

If space saving was Ribtecs brief, they could have gone for the astronaut plastic bag with the sticky bit around the top. Slap one on your arse, do the business and bung it over the side. Loads of space saved, also removes hair and clears blocked tear ducts!! Spot on.

The one on display with twins, was £129K with all the trimmings!
A SINGLE engine one is £92k with the basic package.

Agreed, it looked a mess and cost too much. The hull may have pedigree however package did not look worth the pricetag and the boat does not seem practical in any way. That hull has the potential, the deck fitout needs a rethink .... I really hope they start again.
