Not as planned

Hi folks

Due to only one person wanting to join us, andbeing the only boat we abandoned North Wales & did somthing more local.

Tha plan was a trip to the IOM.

So we all set of but conditions was not quite the force 2 forcast and after about 25 miles my son (age 7) decided enough was enough so we turned back and headed for Piel island for the day.

Nice & calm anchorage with lots to do.

The motly crew just before the water taxi collected us.

And a castle.

Think this was the best place for this group, behind bars, & not the drinking sort

Anyway with a few hours to kill before we could get back into fleetwood marina we sat and watched other "Boaters" making a fool of themsevles.

Various people maganed to run aground on the same bit of sand bank one boat four time in a hour, one guy forget that you need to tie up your speedboat and after a very quick strip, went for a short swim to recover it.
He didnt redeam himself when he returned after several attempts at getting into the jetty managed to reverse over it with a very loud bump resulting.

but this made us laugh.

Trying to jump start a jet ski
If this failed which it did we was almost expecting tham to try and bump start it

We spend a very funny few hours watching people make total fools of themselves with boats.
Lets just hope we dont look like this to others

Regards Gary

Piel Island

Gary,

Looks like you had a good time even if you didn't stick to plan A (or B!!).

With the way the build looks like it's going at the moment, the Ribcraft might not be here as soon as I had hoped, and so I'm thinking of putting it in to Fleetwood for at least 6 months (from end July / early August I hope) - so hopefully you guys will be around for some cruising (IOM, North Wales etc) or just playing out later in the summer (and, of course, winter!!).

Cheers,

Dylan...
