Only double 'ard Ribsters....

.....go round Selsey Bill in December!!!

Out with Andre yesterday in the Parker 750RS and all I can say is WHAT A RIB!!!
It was just a fantastic day. We left Littlehampton in cloud at 10.00. The sea had a strange swell of 4 / 5 feet but no breaking waves. Made it a bit difficult to gauge the wave size before you hit it!!
We managed a constant 20 knots all the way to Selsey Bill and rounded through the street and boulder bouys at about 10:50.
Once the other side we could just about make out the Spinnaker Tower in the distance.
The sea state gradually improved the closer we got to the Solent. We entered the Solent, crossing over into sun shine, at 11.40 travelling at 35 knots in fantastic calm seas.

Lunch in Cowes where we met up with Merlin. Boy is that a red RIB!!
Thats what happens when you let the lady choose the colours Paul!

A very fast trip over to Calshot to meet up with Hightower and Pressman followed.

Then after 20 minutes of hello's and general RIB chat back out onto the water with Hightower in the Parker and me in Merlin.
It was my first trip in a Solent RIB and it was very impressive (and very fast!)
Thanks for the opertunity Paul. T'was an experience! A great sea boat that handles really well (even if the colours are suspect!)

Andre and I left Paul and Hightower just outside Portsmouth Harbour at 14:25, heading for Littlehampton. The seas became increasingly lumpy on our return but the speed didn't drop much below 30 knots all the way back.
We stopped briefly at Selsey Bill to take a couple of photos and arrived back in Littlehampton at just before 15:30.

What a fantastic day on a fantastic RIB.

A few of the photos from our day.

1. Andre on the Parker 750 RS in Cowes.
2. Another view.
3. "Am I bovered.......!"
4. Merlin comes to join us.
5. The Parker at about 35 knots in the Solent.

Cracking pictures Phil.

The colour scheme of the Parker (nice looking boat BTW Andre) looks fairly similar to Merlin (aka MArleen aka Marilyn aka Malone... boy am I in trouble now!)
